Over the weekend I found an interesting way of doing tracks. First, you paint the tracks silver (or gray or whatever). Once that dries go over it in brown, while wiping off the stuff that covers the raised bit, as it gives the impression of mud that has sunk into the recesses of the tracks. I also found it dulls down the shine of silver, which makes it look really nice.
One tool I have discovered I like for bits of bared metal are Molotow markers, like the 1.5mm metallic silver. I've also had some good results with AK's weathering pencils, and Lifecolor's Liquid Pigment series.
I love the way the Firefly feels to hold it has a lot of weight to it.. its a solid beautiful kit easily one of Warlords best. Hope you can get around to doing a Warlord Chi Ha or Shinhoto Chi Ha. Love your work Herbert!!
Fantastic paint job. Very nicely done. I'm no rivet counter and like you don't care what they think. What matters is that your happy with it and the heck with everyone else. They are just observers. Great work and keep them coming. Thank you.
Another thing you can blame your fuel stains on is that the crew where refueling the tank with a flimsy that leaked. They where called flimsy's for good reason
Have the fire fly kicking around waiting to be built. Hell I have the British airborne box waiting to be built too. Best get move on I guess. Great vid, now to raid the wife’s make up box for one of those brushes.
Fun fact about the Firefly , the crews inside these shermans knew that German tank crews were taught to target Firefly tanks , so some Firefly tanks tried to hide the fact that they had long 3 inch cannons. They tried to move the gun muzzle brake further back and tried to cover up their longer cannon
Shix Lo The Crusading Slav But interesting, Fireflys were less likely to get knocked out than their shorter gunned bretheren. Even in Cromwell troops, where the Firefly would stick out like a sore thumb.
Great video. I was wondering what brand/type make-up brush you use? I'm not sure how to narrow down the specific brush type from "make-up brush". Cheers! :)
Well done, but if you want a darker tone for your tank there is a colour in Vallejo's Panzer Aces series, if I remember is British Bronze Green, I had the Humbrol enamel and it should be similar
im clearly very late seeing this but how does the colour look so different from 17:20 to 17:30 as i really want a tank to look like the end result colour and not the 17:20 colour
Looks great to me. Mind you, most wargamers are guys and color blindness is most dominant among men. No worries in that department. If a rivet counter gives you any pain, just tell him that he is color blind.
I didn't. It's not an enamel wash so it wasn't going to damage the base coats and I wanted it to alter the layers beneath it a bit, so there wasn't much reason to add a varnish.
If Barnaby brings up a Konigstiger, you’re screwed...actually, come to think of it, Barnaby would be screwed, because that beast is so absurdly expensive points-wise that he wouldn’t be able to field much of anything else!
I use vallejo airbrush thinner. But water can be used too. It's thinned like pretty much any other paint. You add thinner until it's the consistency you want.
I think it looked much better before you airbrushed enamels. It dulls everything, eats away all the hard work you've done. Believe me, it looks better on the gaming table undusted.

It was nice hearing a British-accented narration while London Gray was being applied.
Nice! I enjoy the painting tutorials! And the unboxing videos! And the kit build videos!

"Simpler" application techniques, the end result does not show it, looks great.

"Don't use track wash on tracks. Didn't you know that track wash isn't for tracks but for tracks?"
😄

Amazing mate!
you should paint ac1 sentinel as a late video for remembrance day
I hadn't thought of that. I was thinking of doing it for Australia day, which seemed a bit more appropriate to me.
but I don't specially care, I love u derp
Thanks!!! This Will defenetly help me in The futiore
Very Nice :)
MMMMMMAAAAA!!!! THAT'S NOT THE RIGHT COLOR!!! WAH!
Just kidding, man. It looks fantastic!
Pink panther in the background?
I think it's in there somewhere. That would be one I was working on for a comission.
spades, axes and handls were green.....everything was painted green....looks boring but thats how they were
who is the airbrush that you use???

Different lighting and camera/camera settings.
@@HerbertErpaderp ah right I was wondering if that was the case wanted to make sure as I want to paint a Warhammer malcador in British colours

what size nozzle do you use?
0.3mm
@@HerbertErpaderp ok thanks :)
On the donut of 3-derp what kv-2 of pressure do you put on to get the gap?
get rid of*
Herbert, did you varnish it before the green wash??

Holy fuccc I can never get over how much of a disparity your voice and your sasquatch-esque hirsuteness generates. Thanks for the great vids.
How do you thin model color?

Like the model and the paint job. Hate the insipid piano jazz.

Since you use makeup, maybe invest in some gloves....LOL
