Before trying this, I already tried other tutorials for making a bag and failed :( as those tutorials were not for beginners. They skipped a lot of steps just stating or fast forward them. and I'm someone who perfectly needs to see the stich before I try it. I loved how you don't just fast forward or skip the steps and YOU'RE MAINTAINING MY PACE !!! LOVED IT. THANYOUUU SOOO MUCHHH..will definitely try your other videos too...

    I absolutely love your pattern and I think it’s so cute and easy. HOWEVER… I am crocheting with a thicker weight yarn and I found that the bottom corners with the quadruple crochet were way too loose for the project I had in mind.
    So to adjust for that, in the first row of white, I started with 2 chains. Then, I did the same pattern as you, but I did each stitch as one smaller than it should be. Here’s how I did that:
    [stitch from the pattern -> what I changed it to]
    Quad crochet -> Treble crochet
    Treble crochet -> Double crochet
    Double crochet -> Half double crochet
    Half double crochet -> Single crochet
    Single crochet -> Slip stitch
    For the slip stitch at the bottom point of the heart, I just had to do a slip stitch. But I found that decreasing the size of each of my stitches by one really helped to tighten those corners for me, and I am posting this in case anyone else is using a thicker yarn and had the same problem.
    I continued with the rest of the pattern as you did, and I love the final squares so much. Thank you for this great tutorial!!

      I should have checked the comments before!!! I'm almost completely done with my project and since I was using a thick yarn and following the exact same pattern as in the video the square was too big to combine with other squares. I had no use of such a huge bag so I just made that one square bigger and then proceeded to make a similar one and combine them like front and back of a bag. Your idea would have been so helpful 😭😭

    • @ella0590
      @ella0590 Год назад

      did you decrease the stitches for the heart too? or just the white part? I’m using a yarn fit for a 10 mm hook so wondering if this is a good size also or too big for this project

    Thank you so much, I've tried this so many times and failed, but with your slow, detailed explaination and close ups of the stitches, I made a lovely little square, I stopped after the second white round as I only wanted a little square. Thank you so much.

    Hi love the pattern! I just wanted to clarify when making the heart is it a total of 13 double crochets (including the ch 3) or is it a total of 12 double crochets (including the ch 3)?

      Hi, I‘m glad you like it 🫶🏻 it‘s chain 3 + 12 double chrochets, so 13 double chrochets if you include the ch 3 :) Hope it helps!

    I just tried the heart by starting with a magic circle instead of the 4 first steps, works great if someone wants to try !! ❤️
