OPP Association President John Cerasuolo, Toronto Police Assocition President Jon Reid and Police Association of Ontario President Mark Baxter are among several speakers including OPP Commissioner Thomas Carrique at the Solicitor General of Ontario Announcement of the Ontario Immediate Family Wellness Program (OIFWP) at the Central York Fire Station in Aurora, Ontario Friday April 5, 2024.

Included in the remarks from OPPA President Cerasuolo were some statistics on police officer line of duty deaths and OPP suicides.
"Currently we have 113 members who have died in the line of duty since the OPP was founded in 1909, and 49 members who have died by suicide since 1989 when the OPPA started collecting statistics on our member suicides. After the 25th Anniversary of the Ontario Police Memorial Ceremony of Remembrance on May 5th of this year there will be a total of 281 names on the Ontario Police Memorial honouring police officers who have died in the line of duty in Ontario. I relay to you these statistics to reinforce the need for support for not just our members and their dependants, but for all of their loved ones."
