Unique list, but anything that doesn't mention Pentel and Uni is definitely lacking. Nice to meet you Chris from Behind the Camera.

Well I totally agree with you, to be honest what he mentioned is just the entry level of mechanical pencil that can obtain in middle school.

I like my mechanical pencils. Currently I'm loving my Pentel Kerrys

I enjoy both fountain pens and mechanical pencils so this was right up my alley! Thanks, Chris!

I like my Caran d’Ache pencils because the are easy to rotate incrementally while sketching, preserving a crisp line between needing to sharpen it.
Several years ago I lost a nice wooden 3,2 mm lead holder. I liked it for de line variation it offered when holding it at an incline. I never came around replacing it.

You need to carry more of the incredibly interesting japaneese mechanical pencils. The best Rotring pencil is the 600.

Tom is missed but you did a wonderful job. I'm thinking of that Lamy for my son who loves what he calls pen penciles.

I've never heard of any of these. I haven't tried a lot of mechanical pencils, but I love the pentel twist erase III (much better than the twist erase IV) and the pentel graphgear 1000.
I differentiate between a mechanical pencil and a pencil clutch. I consider anything that holds a single extra thick piece of lead (extra thick meaning anything as thick or thicker than standard no. 2 pencil lead) a 'pencil clutch'. And anything that can hold multiple thin pieces of lead a mechanical pencil. Am I the only one that does this??? It doesn't really matter if you call a pencil clutch a mechanical pencil they're basically the same thing.

the only issue I have is that alot of these are spinoffs of pens. there's nothing wrong with it but I feel like for a pencil to be special it should be a pencil first y'know?

Wow! This was great. I feel like i have been overpaying for mechanical pencils now! My son has a Kaweco special in black, and one in brass (.7 and .9 leads). I personally acquired a pilot 74 mechanical pencil in .5 which I have been enjoying immensely. The 5 pencils featured are a real bargain!

the pentel twist erase III last I knew was only $5 appox. and it's fantastic.

@@BullheadedGiovanni I think I had a pentel twist in high school... I wonder which one it was?!

@@NotesFromPastAmy I've only tried the twist erase III and IV, so I can't say for the original and second versions.
I've only tried a few mechanical pencils but twist erase III was one of my favorites. The twist erase IV is like the slim version of the twist erase III it's lighter and in general slimmer (I think it's less well built though). The twist erase IV is still a great pencil.

@@BullheadedGiovanni I'll bet I had a III then because I would have picked it for its size. I think it was purple too!

WHY do they make clip on a SHARP and POINTY mechanical pencil ?
there is absolulely no way someone can use those clip.
For me, its a real nuisance as I like to hold closer to the back and rotate the pencil as I draw.
Is there a mechanical pencil wiith removable clip?

mind blowing ? lol, pretty much the most boring mech pencils.
