    a HUGE tip is that when you push the ram sticks in, it requires ALOT of pressure. if you apply the pressure evenly and are pushing down on each side and even the center of the ram stick together, you wont damage it. It has to SNAP into place. you dont flip the lock switch YOURSELF . It snaps in!

      Is the new model of the RAM sticks you got the same exact kinds of the type your motherboard already has installed? It's always recommended that when you get new memory cards, they're matching exactly to the older ones you already have. RAM is tricky and when you have different models/speeds installed into the same motherboard it's not unlikely you'll have issues occuring

    So the first should be in the slot closet to the CPU?

    • @Torqcx
      @Torqcx  6 лет назад +5

      Not necessarily, you may also put it in the 3rd slot; the slot closest to the CPU is channel 1A, next to that 1B, then 2A and 2B Slot 2A will run just as well as 1A, but if you have an even number of RAM, you should always run the cards on the same letter channel (so it's better to put them in both 1A and 2A, not 1A and 1B, etc.) This will allow them to run in Dual-Channel mode rather than Single-Channel.

    Does ram add up? Like if I already have 8 then I add another 8 to the same channel does that make it 16 ram? And let's say I had new ram to the other channel do I need to switch between the two or does it become a separate ram or it just adds up also?

    • @Torqcx
      @Torqcx  4 года назад

      No matter where the new RAM is inserted, it will always add up. If you have a single stick of 8GB of RAM and add another stick of 8GB, in the same or other channel, you will have 16GB.
