Nice clear video and well explained too. I have a 2020 heritage classic V107 in vivid black & glad I bought it because its awesome!! I too changed the tail lamp to LED and changed the license plate frame. I bought HD layback LED with red lens and white plate light. The plate frame mount is the Kuryakyn model: P269069 curved laydown license plate frame mount and its well made all metal chrome, it comes in black too. Another thing I wish is that the rear signal lights were always illuminated. The more light in the rear the better.
Thanks I appreciate the kind words. They do make a wiring harness somewhere that I saw where you can make the turn signals on all the time but then they would have to be red which is easily done. I just don’t recall who makes it. Ride safe my friend!!!
Nicely laid out review I'm picking up my '18 HD Heritage Classic on order and I'm sold on LED's surprised they didn't already come with the bike but...it's still a great investment and you made the switch over look easy Thanks Al
amacro11 thanks for the kind words. The switch over was VERY easy and it looks great. I am kind of surprised they didn’t go all LED too. The headlights look so awesome and I think it just helps finish the bike. I also love the back end with the lay down plate frame and Probeam taillight. I think it just does a great job of bringing the bike into modern times but still keeps the classic look. Good luck with your new Heritage... you will love it. Ride safe!!
@@GearsGadgets I would like to get a strip for the rear of the bags as it definitely helps with visibility. That or I'll buy a set of hard bags with lights. Look forward to more episodes from your channel.
This is a great video. I am planning on getting a heritage and I'm going to do the exact same upgrades. I appreciate you putting this out there so I have a complete shopping list! I put Custom Dynamics LED RTS lights on my Sportster and they were great quality and easy to install. I did get some complaints about them being TOO bright, especially at night. I even noticed people behind me shielding their eyes. I want bright for visibility but I don't want to blind people! I found that the LED's are brightest from straight on, and a little less bright when viewed from a slight angle so I was able to angle my turn signals down a little and reduce the apparent brightness. The turn signals on the heritage don't seem to be adjustable up and down though.
Thank you!! Check out their new ProBeam ambers. I put them on my bike, I just haven’t done a video on it. I was waiting on a another taillight to do some comparisons with as well.
Hey man! Just bought a 2020 FLHCS and I'm loving it. About to do the same thing on mine... I have a set of 1157 LEDs for the rear that are take-offs from my Sportster that I traded on the Heritage. Any idea whether these will work? If they will and I don't have to buy new 1156's that would be great!
Great vid just one quick question is what wire did you tie in with the lay down plate and tail light ? I have the same bike color and all just got it. It’s in the garage becuase it’s winter here in ny.
William Hyland it’s a custom dynamics part magic strobe. The one for the street bob is here: amzn.to/2yWeucv That’s my amazon affiliate link so you can grab it there or just go right to Custom Dynamics website. If you get it from Amazon I make $4 which is sweet. I’m trying to get rich $4 at a time... it isn’t working haha.
why would you not run the rear turn signals as run, turn and brake? just put on the red lens on the turn signals than for sure you will be seen from the back run it with the flasher unit from Custom Dynamics.
mitcho399 I thought about it but the ProBeam taillight is plenty bright enough and I really like the look of the amber lenses on the Heritage. Kind of fits a classic look l like. To each their own I guess but I did consider it.
I will probably never like led turnsignals on vehicles, its too digital. Old bulbs fade in and out its nicer looking. Just my aesthetics view on it. Good tech review anyway.
Ya great review but 1question what size is the nuts under the fender for the license plate
how did you wire the plate into the tail light? do you have a slower clearer video of that process?
Anyone have a good video on this

Nice video, thanks! I'll be adding these to my FLHCS 114.
Thanks, I installed led brake light, front and rear flashers on my Heritage Softail. Very nice!
Yeah it kind of changes the look of the whole rear end for the better.
I'd love to know has anyone added led lights to the bags on the new heritage. It's something I'd like to get. Even just a strip light that works.
I thought about replacing the reflectors with LED’s

Which color wires did you splice into on the taillight from the plate light?
first video I've seen to show the true difference in LED light. Thanks, keep up the good work
Andy Coombs thanks I appreciate the kind words. Thanks for watching!!

My front aux light is loose can you show how to get it off and tighten it up?
I wouldnt know where to start.
@@GearsGadgets basically just asking how to take the aux light apart, but it's good I did myself. Just didn't want to break anything, so I asked.
Nice Job! Monday morning, LED.
Thank you Rod Hoover

I am not 100% sure and I wouldn’t want to steer you wrong but congrats on the new FLHCS. It is really an awesome bike. Great all round bike.
@@GearsGadgets thanks for the reply! The answer is: rear turns on the Heritage are 1156 ONLY 🤙🏻

I tied it into the brake light. Super simple.
@@GearsGadgets If you don't mind me asking which color wire is that one?
Nicely done.
So, did you remove the clear protector that sticks to the fender under the passenger seat?
Thanks!! Yeah I did I don’t ride with a passenger so in the rare case that I do I will just toss a towel under it or something.
I noticed the front version you link now has a "running light" mode with a white halo instead of staying lit as amber. What version did you purchase?
Sorry for the way late reply but I went with the solid amber.
Great video. I have the custom dynamics also. But I need to get one of those strobing things for my tail light.

Yay a fellow Arizonan lol I’m looking into trading my softail custom in on a heritage
You wont regret it, this new Heritage platform is amazing. I don’t have many gripes about it.
Modern Dump trucks come with LEDs. LoL...... You know that is a good thought about the contrast in front white amber.
Sam Rotolo haha true!!
Thank you for your information,, very nice ride
Thanks victor viveros, I appreciate it!!!
Looks great. I went all Custom Dynamics as well. I like the ugly tall license plate though, so I left that alone :)

Fair Enough
for a $30k , LED should be standard
I agree 100%
