What makes this even more worrisome is the fact that these are all Americans here turning on each other for something happening overseas, and can lead to these kids on campus going to war with each other here on our own soil in the future if this never gets peacefully resolved.

Who taught Americans to be so afraid of protests? Do you know what ended the apartheid system in South Africa? It was the BDS movement, with most of the demonstrations and encampments occurring on college campuses.
The US is arming wholesale slaughter of civilians. American bullets are going through children's heads. Doctors are doing C-sections on women killed by American bombs, and on rare occasions a baby survives. Infants are dying of starvation because their starving mothers can't produce milk, while our "democratic allies" dance in front of trucks, blockading them from entering Gaza.
Why isn't that more of a concern to Americans?

My other complaint is that words used to have certain meanings, but these protesters have given them new meanings. Genocide used to mean the intentional annihilation of a civilian population. Now, Hamas embeds itself within the civilian population intentionally wanting to cause as much civilian death and injury as possible, and Israel is charged with genocide. How utterly absurd! Second, these protesters bandy about terms like apartheid which are completely inappropriate. I saw a news show where individuals from South Africa came to Israel and said that when people claim that Israel has apartheid, it belittles the suffering that South Africans underwent. The government of South Africa is anti-Israel, but this was from the opposition party.

If the current situation is what you’d call mitigation, it’s an utter failure. These students are not defending Hamas; You won’t find that being said. The real issue is dehumanizing Palestinians by calling them all Hamas. It’s not complicated: 1,200 Israelis died on 10/7; At least 35,000 Palestinians, including tens of thousands of women and children, have died since. Workers are finding mass graves. US weapons are being used to create this chaos.

Have you ever thought why you naturally believe Hamas is the terrorist and Israel is not? Is it because Hamas are Arabs or Muslims, while Israelis are mostly white europeans? Last time I checked its not Hamas that has bombarded and killed 30K people half of whom are children. They are not just numbers, but human lives! The problems in Gaza can be summed to what happens when you are for more than 75 years occupied, blockaded and brutalised in the world largest open-air prison (as UN describes), where you are yourself second-class citizens. The occupation long predates Hamas (which was founded only in 1987), and the resistance to the occupation also goes long back before Hamas. So dont pin the problems in Gaza and the rest of Palestine on Hamas. Their problems started with Israel, and can only end with them, as the root of the problem is the violent dispossession of their lands and human dignity, that is, the Zionist project of Israel

What angers me the most about these student protests is that they speak only in slogans. They don’t articulate their true vision. When they say things like, “Free Palestine. ” what precisely do they intend to do with the 6,000,000 Jews (half of the world’s Jewish population after the Holocaust) who live there. Are they planning to build massive gas chambers with crematoria for them, or do they just plan to throw them into the sea the way Egyptian President Nasser threatened back in 1967. If the students have such a great vision for the future, they should articulate precisely what it is. The truth is, they are clueless. They know very little about the history of the conflict. I would urge anyone reading this to, at the very least, watch the PBS (yes leftist liberal PBS) documentary called, “Six days in June.”

Actually we understand the conflict better than many. The settler colonialist history is ugly. And what we mean by a free Palestine, is a one multi-ethno nation that is inclusive to all. The fastest way to peace and safety for all, is to demilitarize the borders, extend the right to return citizenship to all Palestinians, annex the West Bank (remove the American and European violent zionists who stole those homes at gunpoint for a free summer vacation houses from Palestinian families), and live together with full equality.
The apartheid has to end. Look at how far South Africa came since it was forced to become a Democracy.
The peaceful protests on campus are our rights to advocate that we stop killing innocent people. And protests on campus have happened during the Vietnam War and in South Africa in the 1940s. Also the part of the protests many people are missing, is the large donations these colleges get. We have had a military industrial complex for a long time. Look up some quotes or a video president Eisenhower. Our education system, Healthcare, and even real estate systems are designed to fund the weapons manufacturing industry to sell abroad and keep us the strongest nation in the world.
The protests are in part about telling their college to stop accepting foreign money from Israel and money from weapons manufacturing companies and other zionists that own wealthy corporations. We must end lobbying in this country and stop Aipac and the NRA from donating to political campaigns and politicians.
