  • Welcome to Play-in Games! Today, we’re diving into the classic two-player card game, SPEED. Hi, I’m Chris Cannuch, and in this video, I’ll teach you how to play this fast-paced, physical racing card game.
The object of SPEED is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards. We’ll go through the setup, rules, and gameplay so you can become a SPEED champion in no time!
Setup: You’ll need a standard 52-card deck. Shuffle and deal two piles of five face-down cards on either side of the table. Place two face-down cards in the center as player piles. Each player gets five cards for their hand and a draw pile of 15 cards.
Gameplay: Both players play simultaneously, discarding cards from their hand into the center piles if they are one rank higher or lower than the top card. Aces are special bridge cards, and you can never hold more than five cards in your hand at once. If stuck, wait for your opponent to make a move or reshuffle the center piles if neither can play.
Objective: Be the first to play all your cards, hit the table and shout anything you want, you won. Replay value is high, and for an added challenge, try using two decks!
Speed is perfect for family vacations, settling sibling rivalries, and more. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe to help our channel grow. Enjoy the game!

There are so very many variants of this game: I will not be listing any. I still love the game though.

💯 correct. We usually play you can play doubles as a variant but I tried to keep this to the basics according to the Hoyle’s rule book for simplicity sake. Agreed it’s the of our favorite summer vacation games.

I can't remember how but I remember playing this a little bit differently. I think the basic gameplay is the same except I don't remember having to set up as much. Is there a variant with a simpler setup or am I just remembering wrong? Awesome game anyway! Thanks for the tutorial!
