love it!! my favorite theme from the game so far!! the callback was such a rush of nostalgia too. all in all some great work by the composers. love the vid, I don't know much about music but you explained it in a way that made a lot of sense!
Wonderful breakdown! If you're ever in the mood for more TOTK, may I recommend the final Ganondorf boss theme? It's another multistage piece that changes with the boss phases in-game.
Whenever i see the notification from your channel , i bring my notebook and a cup of coffee and i'm sure i'm gonna learn something new and be amazed. Thank you for what you are doing Zach ❤️
Always amazed at the way you manage to decipher the orchestration and character of these pieces. It's something I would very much like to learn to understand myself, so I pop in when these kinds of videos release. I always learn something new with your videos, so keep up the amazing work! Also, I have been composing some orchestral music myself but I find that the tools I have are not capable of making the sounds I would like them to be able to make (this is not necessarily an issue in that I think the instruments sound bad, more so that, for example, the attack on my strings is too slow with no way to change it to be shorter and I cannot change the round sounding brass to have more bite). I only use free plugins due to not having hundreds of dollars I can just spend on these kinds of things, so it is to be expected, but it is still the conundrum that I face. I was wondering how you would deal with this as a composer wanting to learn the intricacies of orchestration and harmony. Would you recommend to start looking into good orchestral libraries with more freedom in articulation etc. or should I stick with my setup and "limit" myself to only being able to access certain sounds? Bit of a longer comment, sorry for that XD
Thanks so much!! So your challenge is common in the beginning, and in some ways you'll permanently be limited by the capabilities of the VSTs you use. But I'd definitely keep looking into how to use CC data to really bring out what you can in your VSTs, and then continue to save until you can afford the upgrade. Check out the video below on using a fader to really bring out the dynamics of your VSTs! Might give you some ideas :) ruclips.net/video/Gs1FCP8s9so/видео.htmlsi=OGqTusFrozPsZPbU
Very informative as always, thank you very much for another great video. There's one section that sounds unnatural to me, which is the chromatic strings at 4:05. I don't know why, if it's the Quantize thing or anything else, but it's not realistic; however, it serves its purpose.
wonderful vid! for last last section, is it common to split the string section in divisi for melody sustains and also shorts (rhythm) like that? I've refrained from doing that before on tracks that needed push because I wasn't sure if that's something people do

Damn.. the association of chromatic strings with the feeling of wind.. that was spot on.. very intelligent breakdown of this epic theme 👏🏽👏🏽
thank you for sharing! love your videos of "how to compose something like ..."
Awesome, also i would like to see some chord progressions or cadences you like to use
Thank you for the breakdown, Zach! Always a pleasure watching you explaining! ❤🙌🏻✌🏻

I’ve been waiting for exactly this! My favourite track in the game, and my favourite composing RUclipsr! Thanks Zach
Simply beautiful! 🔥🔥

Hey thanks so much 😁
Thanks for making these! Love seeing the breakdown of all the layers and how they work together. Appreciate you Zach!
Finally, lets go 🤩
Amazing mockup and video! 👍 I would definitely watch you cover other Zelda game OSTs as well.
Zach posts. I watch.

awesome work man, can u do a video checking out yuki hayashi's music?
What library are you using for your woodwinds? They all sound beyond amazing!
Thank you! Cinematic Studio Winds 😁
Awesome 🎊🔥🔥🔥
Very Very Good
hi! i would like to know what is your era wooden flute library! its sounds great

Totally! In that case, you'd either go divisi for some of the sections, or layer in the recording session 👍🏻
@@ZachHeyde awesome, thanks for the response/confirmation! I feel liberated 😭
more, longer and more
Woohoo! More Zelda More Better! 💚
Less is really more - drop the flute and tamborine etc., then you've got good music with the strings and horns.
