Theyve just re-released these! I missed out last time and thankfully this time i just made the pre-order. (Most are sold out or or at ebay price-gouge, but a few places still have one or two variants available or pre-orders open)
I had the old Gobots branded version of this as a model kit when I was but a wee lad. It was actually named Cy-Kill. I wish I could find another copy of that model.
Great vid Peaugh I absolutely love Mospeada too! So much I bought the Mospeada Legioss AFC -01H (blue) from Evolution Toys not long ago (the knee came jammed I'm hoping to fix it one day) but Ive had my Sentinel Toys Cyclone on preorder for awhile now, for sure.
Great figure! I had him on pre-order but I had to cancel because of an unexpected expense :( I was able to get the Toynami Masterpiece a while back version though. I too LOVE this concept of a motorcycle becoming an exosuit. I personally don't have all the hate for Harmony Gold because they brought MOSPEADA to me as a kid and made it accessible in the form of ROBOTECH which I still love to this day. It's funny because I heard that MOSPEADA was not even that popular in Japan and short of the global exposure to it via ROBOTECH we would most likely not even have this high quality figure today. I to hope someone gives us a high quality Hovertank though. I would find a way to get a Hovertank.
You can find them cheaper on the Japanese secondary market. The Stick/Scott one is 33,500 Yen at Nippon-Yasan, which is about US$305 before shipping, but the Rei/Rand one is 26,500, which is $241. That still represents a price hike, the MSRP on both was 20,000, and HLJ had them at preorder for 19,000
I have the Brave Gokin 13 version of this figure that came out 7-8 yrs???. It is JUST has floppy, smaller scale but nice....I keep it in one form and never touched it again =\
They re-released the 3 alpha variants recently and there's still a couple places that have some available at retail price. They also re-released these cyclones / ride armor last month and I just got my pre-order in! (I was so sad when I missed out 6 years ago.)
You are the FIRST reviewer I've watched who has shown the boots extend, I was wondering if they even included it. I think I will stick with my Toynami version of this (although I'm jealous of them using cloth).
Agreed! The faux leather material they used on the Toynami version is terrible. I am thinking of changing it out completely with a more durable red cloth material.
I make replica cloth sets that look way better then what came with the Toynami figure. May post some photos on facebook. Let me know if people are interested in replacement undersuits for their older figure.
The re-released them just recently! A few places still had some available or open preorder slots a week ago. (I feel bad spamming the comments here with a few replies but I remember how bad I felt when I missed out 6 years ago)
Nice but just as unstable standing as all the others thanks to the backpack. The boots are a bit thin and lack the foot bulk like the animation and some of the more stable toys have. Seems to be quite a pain to transform and suffers from engineering issues to make it all stay attached and make sense. I'll stick with my original Gakken Ride Armor which may lack all the detailing and posabiity of this one but gives me no headaches nor concerns something is going to snap when I move an arm.
Kate Nunyabizness The long, thin parts are die-cast and worst-case scenario with the others is having a ball joint pop out of a socket. I can't see an adult breaking this. It also comes with a stand.
Neitenth actually, someone has already shown breaking theirs already. Have to be careful handling certain parts or it will break on you. I like mine but it's riddled with QC issues. It's a lottery pick if you'll get a good copy. @Kate Nunyabizness the engineering and design on this is superb. The real problem with this figure is the poor QC. It's literally all over the place from limbs coming off, loose parts, ball joints popping, etc.
Waiting on this for 3 decades??? We've had so many versions of this it's crazy. Gekken, CM, Megahouse, Beagle/Toynami. ...matchbox. How come you never bothered with any of those if you've been waiting 3 decades?
Hypothetically the body armor could easily have integrated mechanisms in the boots that are activated when the thigh parts connect into the side of the knee. And in the anime the boots were noticeably big, so it would make sense.
it's 2018 how come something like that doesn't exist? just imagine how unstoppable america's armed forces would be as long as the thing was bullet proof, america's armed forces wiuld be unstoppable.
Same here, been waiting for decades. The Cyclone Armors were some of my favorites of the series.
I need one.

Very cool, I am hoping they do Lancer's type(dark blue w/ swards on the arms instead of launchers). It was always my favorite.
Got 2 of these on preorder from BBTS. Can't wait for them to arrive. Love me some Mospeada

"Military Operation Soldier Protection Emergency Aviation Dive Armor"
Beautiful Veritech Cyclones motorcycles bro!!!
Neat. But it seems like a pain to get into armor mode. Still might look into this if the ever release Rook's.
Can't wait to get my set!
the engineering to get this thing to work is absolutely brilliant, but it seems more trouble than it's worth.
Love mine, just removed the pistons from the arm guards. It looks better, better articulation, and it looked like that in the anime anyway.
This is my most favorite concept of all cartoons ever. Followed by the Alpha-Beta fighters and the Invid troopers.
3:29
"Gordon Freeman is now these hands."
I love the rideable armor concept as well..can you suggest any other similar animes?
How the hell can anyone transfer from armor mode back to the biker mode ? I can’t figure out nor I have the time. Any video tutorial ?
Yeah that stumped me for ages too!

I'd love to get one of these! *checks ebay and sees $350 price* Nope...
AlKusanagi ugh that's depressing

Retail was $200 USD, they've been on pre-order for MONTHS and only sold out 2-3 weeks ago...
AlKusanagi lmao, especially for a 1/12 scale. He would need to be able to move on his own for that price.
AlKusanagi It's $200.00 not $350 If you buy retail. Anyone that buys a limited run figure on ebay is asking for it! 😂 Hope that helps
I have the Brave Gokin 13 version of this figure that came out 7-8 yrs???. It is JUST has floppy, smaller scale but nice....I keep it in one form and never touched it again =\
I'm waiting for them to release a Legios fighter (Alpha Fighter in Robotech) and maybe a Tread (Robotech Beta Fighter). Toynami can kiss my ass.

Let me know how that goes for you, I may do it myself.

I know I'd be interested.
LuciferX10 Same here. I've kept mine in their boxes because I know that material is going flake off at the slightest touch.
it's okay to call him Scott XD
destrond69 I do, myself.
better than the MotoSlave from BubbleGum Crisis
I think I’d leave it Armor mode. dang so much tiny pieces, I’d be sweating bullets transforming it.
ya.. i also too late to get one. 350 too crazy. maybe they will reissue more?

Do his shins extend? Will they do Houquet et Rose? (Rook)
The shins do extend, I showed it off in the video.
Sorry, I missed it.
I think his name is Scott Bernard
You can call him Stigg or Scott Bernard.

Thank you both for the info!

Most of them, from what I heard, were too flimsy and weren't that great
Wish it was more accurate to the original design. And cheaper.
Weird, but interesting.
$200 retail for a 12th scale? are they insane
Would l love to have one? Hell, yes. At the price? Negative.
How would a mech suit extend his legs like that....small thing like that would keep me from buying

so many crappy ball joints
A BIG GARBAGE THAT BREAKS
