The is a good Question. God don’t like hypocrisy. Give people the money when they are alive and hungry. It’s so very foolish and vain to do things like this to a dead body.
Lord please teach people some sense.
Some of these people never got any attention and support. Scattering roses after they are gone with shame face. Waste of money.

If it's one thing about Jamaican people is that they are very creative and uniquely so❤
People will barrow loan.empty their bank account for the most expensive funeral package, to buy food,liquors.sometime after the funeral they could open a shop with all the content that left over.
We all have our own opinions, however, if this it what helps to make the family feel less sorrow & pain, then why not!? The creativity may even allow onlookers to feel less uncomfortable when passing the cemetery. 🤷🏾♀️

The number 666 is a bit telling though, however some may say it's not appropriate but there must be a story behind it. The fact that someone died doesn't meant they will get the best eulogy. I came across an article some times ago about a man that died and his relatives when to read his eulogy and this is how it goes. Uncle, we as a family are extremely happy to know that you are dead, you bring to the family endless troubles and stress. You were a divider, a wicked and cruel man, you contribute nothing to society but trouble and now we are more than happy to see the back of you and we hope you have a special place in hell.
This is god damn truth , no lying. It happen at a church in the states. Needless to say I was shock but ending up pissing myself with laugh. The relatives were right in exposing his devious ways, no need to be telling lies and trying make him look good, when in fact he was a pain in the ass when he was alive.

I have seen these posh graves from long as i can remember back home in the West.

I do understand why persons go at great length to ensure that their dead loved ones are "comfortable" in the "afterlife" as they are missed.
The truth is that the dead does not know anything, can do anything to help the living, they cannot make use of or benefit from these "mansions," "palaces," "apartments," "cars," bikes & the like. Worse still, they cannot use any items of jewelry, money, electronics & the like buried with the deceased are taken by grave robbers, even the caskets are taken.
While I do acknowledge the pains emotional & otherwise that comes in the wake of losing someone to death,I would humbly suggest the avoidance of unnecessary spending of funds that could be used for other purposes & to avoid burying smartphones, watches, jewelry, money etc. with the dead as they cannot use these because simply, they are unable to.

Yeah man, people bury money & even bank book with deceased relatives because of the misplaced belief that they are still alive somehow & can use these things in the "afterlife."
Some questions I have asked other individuals over & over is that: 1. If the dead is really still alive, then why are they unable to prevent the living from removing of the items buried with them? Why have they not prevent their eviction from & the recycling of their caskets? No fun intended.
2. If the dead is really alive, why have they not intervene in disputes over what they "dead left?"
3. For those who died violently or tragically, why have they not assisted the police to find & identify their killers?
the only comfort that have relevance to the dead is that their soul at peace when they transition/passed and are able to enter heaven after the resurrection ..all that vanity not benefial to who passed on .at certain point is no longer a body just rotted bones.

Some people spend more money on the dead rather than the living. I want to be cremated n my ashes thrown in the ocean. Period. Leave money to educate smart, poor children or for the Portland rehab center in Prospect, Port Antonio.
