Put 1000 rds through the pistol & not 1 single malfunction. It's dead on too. When i go to the range i always take my ak with me with my chosen other toys.

    Most of the nitpicks can be pretty easily remedied. 1. last round bolt hold open: get a mag/follower that has last round hold open or buy a 556/.308 galil and have last round bolt hold open. 2. having to use ak mags: buy the .308/.556 variants they both use standard ar15/ar10 mags. its a good thing the ace uses standard ak mags since they have better lockup, are cheap and easy to find. in theory they could have used arak mags but those are expensive and difficult to find not to mention that they are ugly as sin. 3. no adjustable gas system: Kns makes a adjustable piston that is easy to install and adjust. 4. fixed pistol grip: Tbh this is a downside. Luckily the galil ace has quite a good grip so for me its not necessary to replace it and as a bonus it has a compartment inside of it thats just big enough for two double aa batteries for my eotech. A bonus drawback would be the inability to use almost all drum mags and wider magazines like us palm without modifying the mag well. Aks have the same sight radus as a standard ar. Its just further down the rifle since the rear sight is mounted on the gas block. line up the sights of a standard ak and an ar and youll see.

      I think you’re getting too upset about a video you saw on the internet. I’ve shot dozens of AK’s, done courses with them, have thousands of rounds down range through AK variants. The traditional AK to me is garbage. The only saving grace to me is reliability but at that note I’ve achieved just as much reliability with my AR platforms. But as always it’s just my opinion and I don’t expect everyone to agree. It’s ok if you don’t 👍

    These polymer magazines look very nice, but in this specific case, they turn out to be a disadvantage when operating the GALIL ACE 21. As their design is not the original one, they do not make the retainer of the mechanisms block the bolt. and the closing block after the last shot is made, the mechanisms remain in front, which means that the shooter, as in the case of the video, once the magazine's cartridges have been finished, has to change it and have to carry out the procedure of loading the weapon using the maneuvering lever and not the handle that retains the mechanisms of the closing block, which results in a very slow procedure and this new feature, incorporated for GALIL ACE rifles, is wasted, an advantage that the GALIL AR, SAR and ARM series of rifles did not have their predecessors.

    • @joebidden4914
      @joebidden4914 4 года назад

      My opinion is get the 7.62x39. You have the good stopping power and penetration of the round and better for a bug out/self defense gun. Leave the 5.56 and .300 blackout for the AR platform. Piston conversion or piston operation on the AR makes a huge difference as well.
      It really depends on what you have currently, but the Galil is best suited in one of the .30 caliber variants.

    ALG makes a Great Trigger for the Galil,
    Kns makes an Adj gas piston,
    Also the 556 model has LSBHO
    And I believe for the 308 too.
    look in the VZ58. CZ
    makes em they have LSBHO
    And have a bolt release making it a bit more AR-ish only CON I can think of is the Mags are Unique to the Gun so no Standard AK mags.
    Surplus are like 20ish and some companies make mags for em
    Lighter Then Standard AKs and has a milled receiver. Look, into it!!
    You might like it
    Vz58 is NOT an AK.

    • @lawrenceroot1795
      @lawrenceroot1795 5 лет назад

      Mags are not proprietary, but some of the wider-bodied AK mags will not fit the magwell. Some folks are cutting or grinding the polymer magwell off so more mags will fit, but I don't think I agree with that. While I have yet to find someone who will state why the design has the extended well, I believe it fits with the idea of minimizing the ability of sand, mud or other debris to get into the action. IWI seems quite focused on that, see the articulated charging-handle slot cover, etc.

    • @HaveltheThot
      @HaveltheThot 5 лет назад

      @@lawrenceroot1795 the reasons for the extended magwell do include keeping debri out and also is meant to make reloads easier. the extended magwell acts like a funnel making mag changes much easier to do consistently. every citizen in israel that is able toserve does serve and this gun is a shining example of why this gun was made. its easy to clean and work on and its reliable. they designed this rifle specifically to be able to be used by anyone with minimal training.

    • @HaveltheThot
      @HaveltheThot 5 лет назад

      There is no legitimate reason in the US to get a vz58 over a standard ak. if you live in canada that might be a good option but I dont think the galil is banned from import in canada so if you have the cash go with an ace. They cost more, parts are hard to find, they are harder to break down and are less reliable and mags are proprietary. there are milled ak's and if you have the cash there is no reason to get any ak variant over the galil ace. it is the akm modernized.

    Galil is an ak variant buddy, I know, I know. Welcome to the dark side. Soak it in.

      My only reason to bring AK’s into the mix is because this is the only AK like gun that I actually enjoy. My stance on AK’s remains, I still don’t like them and they aren’t for me 🤓The Galil on the other hand... 🔥🔥

      @@KeystoneCarry I love my galil. I swear by it. It is my favorite of my 3 AKs. Not a fan of ARs. Enjoy yours, it is the best variant in the market.

      It has the same long stroke gas piston system that aks have. while its not an ak variant technically the internals are almost the same.

    What do you mean it's not an AK!? It's just a modified AK...

      Negative the only thing it has in common is the operating system. The barrel is different,the receiver is different and it actually has sub MOA Accuracy.
      Its everything an AK wishes it could be, but is not.

    • @joebidden4914
      @joebidden4914 3 года назад

      @DroopyWorm its an AK "variant". Its not a modernized AK. I have one and have had my share of AK's over the years. Its a crossover of the AK and the Galil.

    • @joebidden4914
      @joebidden4914 3 года назад

      @DroopyWorm trigger assembly is different, frame/receiver is different, gas piston system is roughly the same, left side charging handle, ambidextrous safety, barrel is completely different than the AK, the stock/brace assembly is even different.
      They are similar, yes. But also very very different at the same time. Modernized is an identifier for it I agree, but they are still very different platforms. The whole gun has been redesigned and adapted qualities of other platforms.
