This is literally the only video on youtube how to put that top cover back on! Need to add to the manual a "karate chop" is required. Thank you IWI! Very happy with my purchase!
Just bought mine and field stripped it for the first time using the printed manual. I struggled with reinstalling the dust cover for half an hour before finally using a rubber mallet to reseat it. First thing I did after reassembly was search for "galil ace dust cover install". Need to add the karate chop technique to the manual for sure because I got it with one slap on the first try.
At 5:25, this is my favorite part of the video, I show it to Krav Maga instructors and ask why they practice punching instead of edge of hand strikes. I want to see one of them using the knuckles to put the dust cover on and then operate the weapon efficiently.
Just wanted to say the ace is the best battle rifle made to date iwi you have created one hell of a gun,the ace makes a sam7 look like a inner ordnance!
Inter ordinance. And the sam7 and ace are almost 9lbs each. 9lb rifle is the best in the world for battle, right? Sam7 is no more accurate than the average stamped AK, they are a ripoff.
It’s a heavy battle rifle to mitigate recoil. I have t shot mine yet. But the videos show you can place follow up shots with really good accuracy at 300-500 yards relatively quickly… quicker than other battle rifles… I haven’t bought a tavor 7.. lmfao.. that might be one of my last rifles… I have like 12 or 13 rifles already.. I can’t take all 13 with me into battle.. I’m trying to max out my carrying capacity stats before the impending second civil war…
@@brandonsmith2299 It's heavy because of the thick milled parts. No one intentionally makes a rifle heavy. Usually, it's a give-and-go between durability (typically with heavier parts) and lightweight comfort. At 9lbs, the Galil is heavy for a 5.56/5.45, but offers until-the-sun-blows-up durability and exceptional performance.
Thank you for good disassembly and assembly, for me it was just refresher because know AK 47 and 74 very well. Now I know how to disassembly and assembly the Galil ace 7.62 x39.
This video is a really good video to use for first disassemble and reassemble task. The camera work could’ve been better with close up shots, but I double tapped rewind to watch closely. I’m already love my 556 Galil Ace Gen 2.
Ouch 5.56 this is very very overpriced 5.56 but if you got that money honey… and if you ever cleaned or disassembled an AK. It’s the same process. More or less.
Though they are all much more snug than your typical AK-47 or AK-74 top cover, fit of the top covers does vary somewhat between individual units of the Galil Ace rifles / pistols. The new guns will often have a tighter fitting top-cover that will loosen slightly and re-seat more easily after repeated disassembly and reassembly cycles. On the extremely tight-fitting top-covers, the karate chop method isn’t going to work for reassembly, especially if you chop while the gun is propped on any surface that has even the slightest give / flex. For these, spare your chopping hand from the massive bruises (or fractures) and use an $8 rubber mallet to give it a hard whack or two that will quickly re-seat the cover. The angle of the blow does matter and the rubber mallet will help you learn the ideal angle of approach without repeatedly beating up your hand. Once you use the rubber mallet, you’ll be able to gauge how much force is optimum to reseat the topcover on your particular gun. On some examples, it is clearly much more force than any normal hand can reasonably apply on a chop strike without risking serious injury. That’s why IWI does not prescribe this method in its operators’ manuals - as they would carry liability for any injuries resulting from their instructions. So, be forewarned. If you’re a first-timer trying to reseat your topcover on a new, Galil Ace, do it with a rubber mallet first.
Mine never came with a manual. So I just Used a rubber mallet like stated but did not realize you were suppost to set the spring assembly up like that. I just whacked the back of the cover once or twice with the mallet
Mine must be broken. LOL! I had no problem removing or replacing the Dust cover. The Karate chop worked just fine. Now, I did have to hold my tongue just right to get BCG and piston rod assembly back in. I figured it would be a little tough the 1st time. Love the rifle. It's a little heavy, but not as bad as my M-14 and a full load out was.
