    I'm so glad I found you! Love your videos! After watching this, I just had to have the Sear and Sizzle. I received it yesterday and today I made the steak! I have to tell you that when I go out for steak, I will ONLY order the filet because the other cuts just aren't tender. I wanted to give this a real test, so I chose a top sirloin steak. Oh my gosh, I would never have thought it could be so tender! I'm so impressed with this! Thank you!

    Received my Sear N Sizzle Grate last week about the same time I received my Omaha Steaks order. Perfect timing. I set the grill on top of a metal egg trivet which made it slightly higher than using the diffuser but not at the highest setting. As instructed I sprayed the grill with their duck fat spray and then preheated the grill for 10 minutes. I was grilling a Ribeye Crown Steak for myself. Three minutes on each side and it was perfectly cooked to slightly rarer than medium rare. I am thrilled with this grill and so happy I saw your presentation. I can't wait to try something else.

    An excellent and informative video! Is it possible to put a flavorful liquid under the grill to infuse the food while it is grilling?

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  4 года назад

      I don't see why you couldn't, but I am not sure how much of that will infuse into the food. Since there isn't a heat source coming from the bottom, I don't think it will get hot enough. Also the liquid could interfere with how hot the grate gets. I'm not positive about this though, I haven't tried it. I guess you could get the inner pot really hot on sear/saute and throw in your liquid, preheat the grate and then grill. That might work.

      @@TheSaltedPepper It’s being released in Australia next month. I enquired of the Ninja Foodi agent when they will release the Ninja Foodi Pro. They are not going to release it here in Australia so Instant Pot will be my Christmas present to myself.
      I really enjoy your channel . Best wishes to you and your family.

    I don't own this product, but I do have the Ninja Foodi Grill. This is a great product review, and I was interested to see how it worked. I have to say I am disappointed that you didn't like the grill, as I was so looking forward to watching videos you would do on it. Personally, I don't see why the grill couldn't do the same thing. Now I'm confused and not so sure I would purchase this item.

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  4 года назад +2

      I know, so many people are disappointed that I didn't like the NF grill. I just didn't think it cooked well enough to justify the expense of it. The reason this grill grate works better than the NF grill, in my opinion, is because of the material it is made out of. Aluminum is a great conductor of heat. I just couldn't get the results I was looking for with the NF grill.

    Planning my 1st try at steak (filet) tomorrow. I plan to use broil. How can I get a nice dark crust? I’ve got the grill grate and Ninja multi cooker. Butter? Marinade? Brine?

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  3 года назад +2

      Heat is what forms the crust. I would season the steaks with salt and pepper and wrap them individually in cling wrap and let them sit overnight in the fridge. Then, take them out of the fridge at least 30 minutes (60 is fine too) before cooking. Preheat the NF with the grill grate in on broil for a full 10 minutes, then cook your steaks on broil. When they are done, put a pat of butter on top and let them rest for 5-10 minutes. I hope they turn out great!

      I prefer the Foodi over the grill, but mostly because I like combo cooking using PC and the crisping lid. The grill does a great job though. I think the grill does a little better with steak especially when paired with the sear n sizzle for the xl grill.

    Louise is there any formula or standard when cooking a steak frozen or thawed and depending on the weight and size. I am overwhelmed that I will screw it up. Therefore I won’t cook any

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  4 года назад +1

      Some people will PC a frozen steak, but I haven't had too much luck with that. As far as thawed goes, I use the same timing as I would in a pan when I use the grill grate with the broil function. Timing depends on thickness of your steak and how you like it cooked, so there really isn't a formula.

      Yes, it does work in the IP Duo Crisp. I would consider getting the dehydration rack that is in my Amazon store so you can position it at different levels. The rack that comes with the Duo Crisp doesn't really give as many options as you may want. amazon.com/shop/thesaltedpepper

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  4 года назад +3

      Thank you! You know what, I had ground beef and was going to do that, but didn't since it is really the same as when you grill them any other way. We have made burgers on it and it works great. Preheat the grate for 10 minutes on broil. Put the burgers on and cook them for 3-5 minutes per side or until they are done to your liking. I used broil, but AC at 400 would work as well. The times really depend on how thick the burgers are and how you like them cooked.
