so, with consideration to the last question- I've wondered about a 16 year old's legal rights in other major decisions. At 16, would have the capacity to recognize the severity, risks and benefits in a surgical procedures or a car accident which called for a blood transfusion. Who has the right to make that decision when a minor and their guardians are at odds?

How can a minor live alone if they arent able to sign contracts and if someone helps them out that person who is an adult would get in trouble. A minor can not leave home without parent consent. But what if the minor really can support him/her self but parents dont allow the minor to go and she or he does it anyway? Im from texas and would like to be emancipated im aware of supporting myself and how to do it. But before i proceed to getting a job and balancing school by going to school online on a flexible schedule in order to keep my good hours at work and make enough money. But this is my real question... how could i leave home without getting reported as a run away or not getting in trouble. How can i do it alone and automatically become emancipated. It technically for me is an emergency situation but i dont think my mom would ever agree to let me be emancipated

I thought emancipation for minors was a legal thing that had to be determined by a judge. Is this video saying medical professionals can determine if a minor is emancipated?
Only a judge can. A medical professional could be called upon as a witness if a case required their testimony.

med student here, question- what happens in the following scenario: a minor comes in with HER infant and refuses vaccination for the infant, the minor is accompanied by HER grandmother who she lives with; grandmother would like the child to get vaccines- no other information given in question, next best step?
There's an Amboss Q that is the same as the abortion question @ 6min and the correct answer was A, citing that more states require parental consent than don't.
