- Went fishing for sturgeons in Redwood City today.
There was a lot of signs showing sturgeons are actively feeding there. I wasn’t able to hookup on
any of them. I think maybe the sharks keep beating them to the bait. But I did have a blast playing the sharks. They’re just as fun to catch as the sturgeons.

Yes, the white bass are a blast to catch on light tackle. I caught a bunch of them in Houston TX.

I enjoy your videos. Please check regulations on the bait for this episode. I remember reading California regulations not being able to use game fish as bait. Salmon roe is ok. But not the flesh.

Fish near the bank when tide is high and in the middle when tide is low.
So i used to fish redwood city as a kid for shark, striper,sturgeon,and pearch. Have you ever fished the bridge for the train over there.

@taitrinh4129 oh man hang on in that 10 footer your going for a ride. They have maked some of the biggest sturgeon recorded in south bay there. Not mention good numbers Of leopard shark and seven gill. If you have never caught a seven gill shark you're in for a ride. In that area it's not uncommon to hook up Two hundred pound seven gills. Back in the day we used to use live dog fish or small leopard sharks for Bait, And we would drift. I should mention that we were in a much bigger boat
For doing that. The reason I asked is because I was wondering if you've ever purch Fished the columns of the train Tracks. The striper over there can be quite impressive. On the other side of the Bay, the Hayward side, the old demolished dumbarton bridge is is great for stripers. The trick is getting to the surface before they rap around the busted up concrete below. There used too be good perch there too ,and you can use the smaller shiner perch for Bait for striper.

I wasn’t able to hook up to any. The sharks keep taking the bait. Good thing the sharks were big and they put up a good fight.😁
@taitrinh4129 wait to you hook a seven gill,it will be 3 times the fight if doesn't break you off. You can get there from alviso harbor or redwood city harbor, and I think palo alto still has one as well
