    I think my favorite part was when you put the shoes in and I was like “ Oooh he’s gotta lil microwave for the shoes!”
    Then I paused.. because metal.. 🤨🤦‍♀️
    It’s 2:30 in the morning and my insomnia has me watching this. I got here from my cow hoof guy in Scotland - something about watching farriers has always been fascinating and I miss being around it.
    You have a great video, it’s just like being there at the barn. I can smell the horses and everything!
    thank you for sharing them and for posting all the info about what you do - I’m sure it can be frustrating seeing and answering the same questions again and again.
    Anyway off to find more of your videos, thanks again. 😁

    Loved this video! My neighbor has taken in horses seized by state animal control for many years. Her farrier has saved many of those horse's lives over the years. Sweet horses in pain from neglect who just needed to be brought back to health to go on to lead happy lives with the right people. It's all about the feet, with horses. Farriers are heroes, and what you do is an art.

    Dunny's a very cooperative horse. He deserves a better name than a synonym for an outhouse! Some horses are so unwilling to have their feet handled, the farrier puts a twitch in them -- which, naturally, only makes them head-shy. Dunny has clearly been handled often, well, and kindly.

  • @WarmPillowcase
    @WarmPillowcase 4 года назад +10

    I love how gentle you are with Dunny. Dunny was so cooperative and when Dunny didnt want to be cooperative, you let Dunny do Dunny's thing and when Dunny was ready you went ahead and continued. I love you for being so gentle and careful with them. Thank you!

    • @ohcharlie2541

      @Depressed Freak it's for the horses own well being, the horseshoes protect his hoofs from his own weight and trauma that could happen to the nail when the horse is running or doing different tasks, i know the process of putting on the shoes on must of felt uncomfortable for the horse but after that was done, i bet he felt much better

    • @ohcharlie2541
      @ohcharlie2541 4 года назад +4

    It's 11/4/19, I happenstance upon your video, read your FAQ's and all the comments. Watching horses get shod never gets old, watching you was wonderful. You were blessedly quiet, gentle, competent, thorough... I could go through the Boyscout Pledge lol :) (guess that dates me). You are a cohort of mine (you've been doing this 40+yrs, I've been married to a veterinarian over 42 yrs...). As I watched I had sympathy back pains for you... aging is so harsh sometimes, add being a Farrier omg lol... I still love horses (my dad wanted me to outgrow being horse crazy alas that never happened). Another cold season upon us so wishing you warm times indoors and more lovely horses like Dunny to shoe for you :) I subscribed of course, lovely to watch you!

    It’s three in the morning here in south Texas and I’m watching horse shoeing videos instead of sleeping but oh well

    Gary Huston I was afraid of horses growing up, because two foal chased me as a kid. But working on a ranch in my early teen to adult years, before stationing in Europe, I got used to horses. Horse shoeing is one thing I believe makes a person proud afterward.
