Hello Gary, shoeing again. I have come to look forward to your videos. Shoeing, or smithing, I find them all informative or soothing and fascinating. Top of the mornin’ to ya.
David Cannon I wouldn’t have enough to say on a video. It’s just easier hot. The shoe shapes easier, foot prep is easier and less time bent down! That’s about it.
I spent 35 years shoeing mostly cold then I bought the land rover which was already kitted out with hot gear. I started and wished I had been doing it for all those years! My body might not be so knackered if i'd been hot shoeing all that time!
I PRAY you gave a discount for reusing the old shoes. And I noticed you did not clean or trim the frog and/or between the hoof and the frog? Hot shoeing I believe is the best way if possible!Pete is such a gentleman to shoe! 🐴💙😇🐎
He's not doing more than necessary. It looks to me that the hoof hasn't grown that much, he might not need to do much about them. Then again I'm no farrier
I've been watching your videos for ages and I love them to bits! I do have a question though, how long did you have to train before becoming qualified?
Gary, I requested purchase of two of the marble wands some time back and am still interested in them. I would like a deep red one and one aqua or cyan colored one. My Kids and family attend Comic-Con and these would be amazing 😉. Please get back to me at your earliest convenience with pricing. Thanks.
Come across this video and bring me nice memories when I worked as a Polo groom at Belmont riding centre at Mill hill back in 1996. Really enjoyed watching farriers doing their job. Love your Defender 👌
@@ponytales9582I hope your happy there, it's quite big place. I visited few years back, took my wife to show her where I worked before. I think they don't keep Polo horses there any more. Is Mr Andrew Reid still own the place? Use to exercise his 2 big horses Wally and Diamond 🐎 beside other Polo gang 😎
It looks he is, just Google this article about him www.express.co.uk/news/uk/480528/Meet-Andrew-Reid-the-lawyer-behind-one-of-the-most-popular-farms-in-London/amp
Has any one ever just flipped their phone or device upside down to see his perspective of cleaning the hooves when the camera flips.....?...........bc i did that with most of this video ngl😂
Gary Huston Hi Gary! Look them up on GE farrier tools, USA. I have used them for 35years, I love them. Great videos my friend, keep up the good work. 🇨🇦
Gilles Cordier oh, you mean a nail puller! I have a set thick with rust in the bottom of my box, I never find I need to use them, what are they really for?
Gary Huston To pull off individual nails by their head leveraging the tool against the crease. As you know, some horses are sensitive when leveraging the shoes off the sole with the pull-offs...
Ok i just found a perfect asmr video
I can’t imagine how that must hurt your back. Props to you!!

What a nice nature Pete has
lmao that long ripping fart oh my gosh that must've stunk, especially considering you were standing right next to his butt.
Oh, how convenient, I was just going to bed! Thank you for the video and have a nice day/night!
I'm loving the horseshoes set into the concrete. That's a pretty nifty detail. Great vid as always. Hope your shoulder mends up soon.
Another great video, mate! Do their hooves get harder or easier to trim in wet weather?
harder as everything is slippery
How's the shoulder? We had a gorgeous day here in Iowa. I just love Pete!
That horse really let one rip didn’t he
I love your horses it's so cute
at first i thought this was a repeat.................geddit :P re-Pete...........
I really like the horses videos hop to see more soon and get well soon sir
16:35 lol
Can u do a video on the benefits of hot shoeing vs cold shoeing?

@@garyhuston thanks mate, I'm interested in other people's thoughts on it

Thanks mate, love your manners with the horses. I haven't seen any difficult horses yet on your Chanel

Nick yeh I think he is and as far as I know they don’t have polo horses anymore. It’s cool to see someone near me!

Can’t help but notice all the pipe in your truck. Got a big project coming up for u- tube?
No, just a regular job. You can see them in the hobbyweld gas review.
GE CREASE PULLERS would make a nice addition to your tool selection... 😏
No idea what one of those is so probably don’t need it!

Gilles Cordier oh, I wondered what they were for! I have never really used them except to get a nail out that is really close to another.
It's hard to believe that he is due for a reset, his toes look quite short..
Luv it 💗💗💗
I like your Rover.
I want to known why this was on my recommed
But you better not complain you just came over to the good side of RUclips 🤪

Is he Horse Shoeing out of a G Wagon??
No!
Gary Huston It looked like one that’s all I’m saying. Must be a Jeep or a Toyota or something. What kind of vehicle is it?
Land Rover
Close enough lol. Great videos man. Keep it up! 👍🏻
It's a Land Rover Defender.
Warum Frisst eigentlich der Hund immer den Hufrand und die spähen vom Messer und vom Raspel
I bet those 3 who disliked are not horses! XD
Серьёзная работа
you sir do not trim a good hoof, too fast and not in depth. Do not care for your trim.
And what do you know about it?
@@garyhuston got his degree in shoeing from DR GOOGLE 🙊
