Your pampered chef can be used to make pot pies, or individual fruit pies. Happy baking!
I absolutely would love to see your bedroom makeover! We all experience life, but you give such great inspiration!
The wood piece you were puzzling over is a napkin holder-constructed that way so that the wind doesn’t blow your napkins away if you’re dining outside on your patio. A neighbor made us one just like that-it worked beautifully.
The pampered chef item is to cook eggs in microwave.
This is Grandma from Texas. I look for your videos and enjoy them. That wood 2piece object is a napkin holder. My son made one for me in middle school. He is nearly 40 and I still have it. We use it when we eat on the patio so the wind doesn’t blow napkins away. On aging the books you could brew some tea and dab or paint on the books to stain. It wouldn’t even hurt if some of the pages curled up a bit. I think that shelf may be one of my favorite you have done I have watched you videos for a few years now. One thing I noticed when I first started watching your videos that captivated me was, you used to pick up almost everything on the shelfs. No one else I watch does that. I don’t get out much so when I watched you shop I was able to see so much more. You don’t do it quite so much anymore but I want you to know I still love your videos I am hooked and I try to catch all of yours and your precious family. I think Elizabeth is your co-star. I just love her. She is such a beautiful young lady. She seems to be beautiful inside and out. Thank you again for sharing your life and family with us.
Hey, the Wooden box wasn’t a potato Bin, it was a Hamper! Love that Elizabeth found some Records! I’d Love to see your Bedroom earlier
The wooden item at the beginning is a napkin holder. Love the recycling of the records. You can easily make book ends by heating the records with hot water n then bending part of the records to 90 degrees, check you tube for instructions. I bet Elizabeth would love to do that.
Thank you so much 😊 and how fun! I’ll have to tell her.
Yep. 😊
Yes a napkin holder. That’s a nice large one too. These are nice to use outside so the wind doesn’t blow them away. 😀
For the letter “A” try nail polish remover. I’ve used that on a couple of my glass pieces and it worked
Maybe magic eraser on the ‘a’ or lightly sand. The bedroom makeover show sounds good!
Thank you 😊
Love the idea of using the paper back books. Maybe stain the edges? Regular stain or coffee or tea stain
Thank you so much 😊
I would love to see your bedroom. Ty
This is what I would do too.
When I find things that are stained or too white for my taste, I use tea to darken them. I did that with some napkins that were my mother-in-law's even the lace around the edge looks good!
I would go with tea stain coffee can be a bit messy, tea stains you can layer better for the desired result or potentially a very light brown coloured wax but tea is probably easiest.
My daughter put a wall of records on a wall in her new apartment except she also used the covers. I love that our kids are appreciating the old things as well.
Oh how fun. I tried telling her to use the covers too. And yes, so fun!
That hutch would be so cute with paper backing
I know but I’m terrified lol
I would love to see what you have done in your bedroom. 🥰stain the books with tea 🥰
Thank you 😊
You could use a fingernail file or a blade from your scissors along the edge of the book to rough them up- instant age. They had a nice color from what I could tell in the video but you could add more color with coffee or tea
Thank you 😊 yes, once on the hutch they looked much better.
Julie you can sand the spine and edges of newer books then take strong tea or coffee not sopping wet but wet and wipe them with the tea then let them dry. they will take on a old look. I have done it so many times. it really works. hugs Sheryl 💙🎨💙 Yes want to see bedroom.. defuser stand old silver tray make your own stand glue a crystal candle holder to bottom of tray..
Hi Julie, you can “age” the book pages with old used coffee grounds and hot water, rub on with clean damp cloth, or u could leave book submerged side ways for a few minutes, I’m sure this would make the pages crinkle, but worth a try
I think the wooden thing at the beginning of the video is a napkin holder. You raise the top wooden piece and put napkins under it. Can be used outside for a cookout so napkins don’t blow away. BLESSINGS!!!
Yes. I need some inspiration to keep going. I just got a 1920s house 🏠. And unpacking and working the past 2 months has slowed down to a crawl. I watch several utubers.. and have found several nice pieces at thrift sites, garage sales, antique places, I even went to my first flea market... I have lost my zip... zest...drive... to put it all together.... I even started making tier trays in hopes of selling them this past weekend.. I was invited to a flea market... but sadly.. I sold one and traded 2... and ended up spending much more than I made.. but I had a great time.. and met several great people. My friend said.. tier tray decorating is new... it's hard for this crowd to see the vision.... we'll see if I stick with it. Maybe being in MN is a tough market for tier tray decorating or maybe the vintage flea market was truly the wrong crowd. Who knows..
Any rate. Watching you and your family always inspires me. Enjoy your summer and fall.!!!! Gods Blessings to you and your family!!!!
Awe, it sounds so fun! 1920s house sounds beautiful!
@@ThrilledThrifter the house is beautiful 😍❤.
Hi Julie, you can stain the book edges with a very light touch of very strong coffee or tea, then wipe and let dry. Don’t soak them. Just keep adding a light touch until you get the colour that you want. Always wipe after and let dry. If they wrinkle too much iron chunks and put something heavy on. Tea and coffee should give different colours. Yes please I would love to the see what you have done so far in your bedroom.
try tea, coffee staining the edge of the books or lightly brush them with antiqueing wax or wood stain. you could also try sanding them or sand them after you color them brown to distress them. tie them together in small groups with twine.
Hi Julie! Oh yes please I would really love to see the bedroom makeover. For the books , we were taught in school to put teabags in a bowl with water and any paper you wanted to look old just soak it for a few minutes and then take out and put out to dry . Have a great evening.
Oh awesome. Thank you 😊
You can use tea or coffee to stain your books. You can spray or use like paint to make them look older. Since they were free you can experiment a bit till you get the tone you want.
I would've swiped that Mikasa bowl up in a second! It's beautiful!
I too would have gotten that lovely soup terrain regardless of the A.
Isn’t it gorgeous!
You could tea dye some linen fabric & glue to the binding. Dye it in lighter & darker shades of tan & brown
Thank you so much 😊
Hi Julie.. Soak a couple of teabags till they are dark, squeeze them out and rub them gently on the edges of the books.. Good luck and best wishes to you from Tracey in the UK 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️xxx
Use strong tea. Brew a cup and then dab it on it. It works great!
Thank you 😊
Use code to age projects…Make a cup of instant coffee and when cool you can use a paint brush to paint it on edge of book or certain pages. I think it looks really natural.
To make your books look older and more vintage, use cold tea. Dip a brush in, then cover your pages. It should stain them a lovely vintage colour.Don't know if cold coffee would work the same. Dipping fabric in tea to gives them an old-world look too
Cold coffee does works the same only darker and smells wonderful!
Tea or coffee stain the books. Love your country style! :) Yes please put up a vid of your progress. Yes real life and real today is busy! Thanks for sharing.
Fill a small bowl with dark brewed coffee that has completely cooled. Place the book on the wax paper, then dip the sponge brush into the coffee. Begin brushing coffee onto the book pages. Remember to brush coffee onto the front and back pages as well as the sides and spine.Mar 21, 2018
Instant coffee n a little bit od warm water for the books
Thank you 😊
Julie, You can purchase and antiquing stain at the hardware store. It leaves a "tea" stain look on wood and other items.
Napkin holder. My husband's father used to make those as gifts. Top board hold napkins down and slides up and down the 2 dowels.
That’s awesome. Thank you 😊
If your husband is working long hours and you need help you could enlist the help of one of your son in laws...have the family over for dinner and you can get some help in the mean time 😊😊😚just an idea...And for the soup tureen, you could find an embellishment at Hobby Lobby or Joanns fabric and crafts and glue it over the " A" even a fabric embellishment would be nice...was thinking a medallion of lace and rhinestones but dont know if that would fit into your decor but there are many possibilities...a flower or something could work as well😊😊😊
They would but they too work incredibly long hours 😩.
@@ThrilledThrifter yeah,I was thinking that they might work a lot as well but it was a long shot...lol
Love the idea with records. I still have mine when I was a teen. 40 something years ago. 🤣
Yes please Julie share your bedroom so far. Honestly are we ever done anyway, we all start, continue to change and replace. I love your corner cabinet and do not mind place holders till we get exactly what is perfect 😉
Thank you 😊
You can run a used tag over the edges of the book to make them more aged let it dry then repeat till you get the desired effect
That pampered chef piece is an egg cooker that you can cook in the microwave. I have one of them. It cooks the eggs good.
Thank you 😊
With the old books,Theresa at Our Green Acres, uses damp used coffee grounds & rubs them right on pages at random then air dries👍👍👍
I think all of us would love to see what you have done so far in your bedroom. I'm sure it is lovely.
Have you tried coffee or tea to stain the edges of the books. It might work, but try it on one you aren't in love with.
Have a great week.💕🦋🌺
Thank you so much 😊
Of course Julie show the bed room before and after and when done we will wait I want the tat red curtain❤️👍
Love Elisabeth’s decor with records
Thank you 😊
Yes let’s see it Friday!!!!
Your corner hutch turned out beautiful🌿
A for autumn
That wood thing you had is for fresh flowers to dry. Flowers press
Elizabeth very cute idea 💡
😁
My son & daughter made the "potato bin" but we used them as waste baskets. Take care.
I vote for seeing the bedroom makeover! None of us live in a museum after all! 😉 I’ll be looking forward to it. Also, you can tea dye the edges of those books. Brew some dark tea, pour it in a pan and stand the books on their edges to get that weathered old look.
Elizabeth , you are such shining star xxxx
Yes please go ahead and show us what you have done so far. Great heal.
Would love to see what you have done in your bedroom thus far. You are a wonderful inspiration to me.
Thank you so much 😊
Yea I would love to see your bedroom makeover-done or not. I love to see the process!
Coffee is always a wonderful way to age /stain items and it's chemical free and cheap using your morning coffee grounds 😊☕
In Williamsburg, the match holder is used for the long pottery pipes.
Yes I'd love to see the bedroom reveal so far!
Thank you 😊
I think that wooden contraption was to keep paper napkins from blowing away at a picnic.
Just found your channel. I enjoyed thrifting with you and did subscribe , cant wait until the next one.
Yay! Thank you so much 😊
Yes please show us your bedroom makeover. I could use some ideas.
Tea or coffee water can help with your books and antique wax as well also wrap books of 3 in twine as a set. I am new to you. I just love you and your family. Keep going looked at one of your daughters channel so far. Just love to watch yinz!
I love Dorothy garlock. Such a great Arthur..
That potato box was awesome! Great video
Love that small basket it would be cute on a mantle or any were so cute
BTW, yes, I'd love to see what you've done with your bedroom so far!
If the "A" is fired on the tureen, it isn't removable. If it was affixed after firing, try acetone to remove it. I want to see your bedroom in process! Spray the old books with old coffee or tea to age and then dry in the sun.
I adore books, you've done saved them from a landfill 😊
I love your hutch in the school room! Could I suggest that yu position it across the corner instead of in the corner ? Would look really good too! LUV watching your videos ❤️❤️
I would like to see the progress!
Thank you 😊
You should have got that wood star!!!😄
I almost did.
I am Anxious to see your bedroom makeover and love it when you say you got sidetracked that seems like what I do every time I go to the thrift store or the Goodwill so I’m not the only one lol.love the corner shelf with the plants and dishes. Maxine Ok
Hello Julie, I just got back from thifting at my value village, you call Savers. Anyway, that basket you just got, I just got the exact same one only more square{really}. In regards to your books and aging them, I used a bowl of tea and a sponge craft brush. the longer you leave the tea bags in bowl, the darker. just dab, try it first on a book you don't care about. have fun. hugs.❤😀
Awesome! Thank you so much 😊
Yes I was going to say coffee is what I use
Everything is beautiful as always. 💕
Take a wet tea bag or swipe on old (unsweetened) tea. That should stain them. Just not too wet.
pamper chef item looks like a pie plate i have but double miniature made out of the same stuff they make their pizza stones out of
I would make strong tea mix and use a sponge to do a tea stain look on the books. Get sponge as dry as possible,
Would love to see your bedroom makeover. 😍
I'd love to see your bedroom make over in progress. You can tell us all about your amazing ideas for finishing it. I think we all have half finished projects that we inspired to finish. Thanks for sharing your creative brain 😊
Thank you so much 😊 so true!
I would like to see the bedroom makeover reveal and see how you put it together
The pampered chef piece is a microwave egg cooker. Make sure it’s well oiled. Happy thrifting.
Oh nice! We didn’t purchase it because we had no idea what it was.
I have a feeling it is suppose to have a cover since it said "as is" on the tag.
Stain with strong black coffee jub use paper towel rub with coffee then let dry good.
Hi Julie oh yes I would love to see bedroom make over even though it’s not done. They had some nice things in that thrift store. 🌻🐓🌻
Thank you so much 😊
Just love your thrifting vlogs! Thank you so much for sharing ❤
The Pampered Chef piece was an egg cooker. We had one in our thrift store too and had to look it up. tfs
Thank you 😊
I have one and love using it!
Loved the fishing print. I think the potato box could be used as a trashcan also. The little blue and white pitcher you picked up at the beginning was so pretty.
Your soup tureen and that white candle set really added so much to your corner hutch! I'm so glad you decided to change it up from just the old-looking books!
I’ve seen people use coffee to make paper look older. You could try that with the books!
Hi Julie, I would love to see how you are doing with your bedroom. The way that you styled that soup turine is beautiful!! I like that whole corner hutch.
Thank you 😊
Hi Julie. Pamper chef piece is a microwave egg cooker. 🥚 also, I like that thrift store.
Thank you Barbara!
Thank you Barbara!
I want to see your bedroom! I’m always in need of inspiration!
Soup tureen for the win. love the floral spray in it. Maybe a tea wash on the books like they do on linens. I thought for sure you would of bought that pottery rectangular bread tray. It is the perfect color for fall decorating.
Thank you 😊
Would love to see bedroom makeover. Wonder if you could tea die the books
You can use shoe polish on the books
Oh awesome! Thank you 😊
you just told your friend about put your basket if you are thinking about it i remember that every time i go thrifting now your words just stick in mind and look below the shelf
Would love to see your bedroom make over.
I would like to see what you have done with your bedroom makeover so far.
You put your napkins in there and push that lay that top down so that keeps the wind from blowing your napkins away
Hi Julie, I would love to see your bedroom as is and after. I get anxious waiting for your next video and haul. See ya in Friday!
Awe, thank you so much 😊
Yes would love to see what you’ve got started in the bedroom 🛏 always looking for ideas. :) Great Video
Thank you 😊
The books to make the book edges of the pages look old take some coffee grounds just damping very lightly or either a tea bag with just a little dampness and just rub the edge of the paper the pages and all the way around and it'll age it to make it look real old just try one and you'll get the hang of it and you'll know how wet to make the tea bag or the coffee to color it you could possibly take it and put it in a cup and do a brush
Awesome Dorothy! Thank you so much 😊
Love to see the bedroom now. Got a kick out of how excited you were over that basket that I knew you were going to pick up. 😂
Thank you 😊 and I know, it does not take much for me lol
I really enjoyed this video! Thank you posting this bonus Tuesday video :) If you wanted to make the books look older, you could try staining them with teabags. It gives a weathered and crinkly look to paper!
Thank you so much 😊
