We know we've had some big moments missing from some of these edits. Unfortunately copyright has been a bit more intense then normal this past month and a half so our editor was a bit too aggressive. That being said we've communicated some of the major scenes missing y'all have communicated to us in the comments and our editor will be making sure those missing scenes get added to the full Harry Potter binge video once we wrap up all 8 movies and upload that binge. He also will be making a point to double check big moments for future uploads to avoid these missing moments in the future. If there's something big missing feel free to put it here so we can make sure we don't miss anything too important when we add some scenes back to the binge video in the coming weeks.
    Thank you for understanding Billy!

      Understood.
I am genuinely curious and say this with a neutral tone: Do your editors watch the movies they edit? Do they watch them before they edit/are they into films and television shows? I ask because I have noticed this trend with editors of other reaction channels (third-party editors), where you can tell they have never watched the movie. It isn't just a moment here and there they leave out, but moments that allude to the story as a whole for the movie.

I’m pretty sure it was because they wanted to put more emphasis on growing up, puberty, crushes, etc. So they made all the boys love the Beaxbatons and the girls were in love with the Durmstrang students. I think I remember seeing an old interview of Mike Newell talking about why they went in that direction on an old DVD special features😂

Durmstrang (Scandinavia either Sweden or Norway)

@@Ev1L0rdnot necessarily. It could be a mixed school like Hogwarts. I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the schools are to some degree mixed since there aren’t, as far as we now, enough to cover the whole world. So some people would have to travel countries to go to magic school. Again take Hogwarts, in the entire UK and Ireland it is the only magic school so people from England, Scotland, Wales Northern Ireland and Ireland would all have to go to the same school. There are of course other factors that could be part of determining where people would send their kids like what kind of magic each school focuses on more, if it’s closer, language etc.

@@Ev1L0rd No. The Bulgarian team was facing the Irish team. There isn't a magic school in Ireland, the nearest one is hogwarts in Scotland. Ron’s got a bit of a complex bless him. He’s the 6th of 7 children and the one before Ginny who was the girl his parents wanted. Of course they love all of them but I imagine he’s never grown up feeling particularly special and now he’s constantly in Harry’s shadow. Now the idea that Harry went ahead to try and get glory and didn’t tell him about it hurts. Remember in the first movie he saw himself in the mirror he was like..head boy and quidditch captain and all those things. That’s the kind of stuff he valued, at least then. Plus they’re teenagers. This was the book that had a big jump in size. Double the size of the last book and nearly triple the size of the first book. They cut near half the book.
    1. The start with Harry at the Dursleys, getting an invitation to the cup. Mr Weasley blowing apart the Dursleys lounge room wall when they try to floo in and find the fire place was bricked up. Fred and George dropping a bag of candy to trick Dudley into eat a tongue growing candy that made it grow to about the size of a rump steak.
    2. Bill, Charlie, and Percy cut from the movie. Fred and George planning for Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes. Harry at the Weasleys for a week.
    3. At the camp site exploring and meeting classmates. The Weasley family seats where in the top box with the Malfoys and Crouches elf Winkey saving him an “empty” seat. The whole of the detailed description of the match. Winkey getting blamed for casting the Dark Mark and being fired.
    4. The other schools don’t arrive until Halloween, and they are both co-ed.
    5. Dobby gets hired to work at Hogwarts after haggling his wage down, and then winky gets hired later.
    6. When Hermione finds out about the dozens of house elves at Hogwarts she starts SPEW, Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare to advocate for better treatment for house elves. She spends the rest of the movie trying to get the rest of Gryffindor to join. Starts knitting hats and hiding them around the common room to trick the elves into being freed.
    7. Moody uses the Imperius Curse on all the students as a form of training. Harry does well at resisting it.
    8. Fred, George, and their friend Lee all try to put their name in the Goblet of Fire. When they grow beards, they laugh about it. Dumbeldore is present when this happens and laughs with them.
    9. The other champions voice their concerns about Harry being a champion. Dumbledore calmly asks Harry if he put his name in the Goblet of Fire.
    10. Ollivander appears to weigh the champion’s wands. Rita Skeeter pushes the narrative that Harry and Hermione are in love from the start.
    11. When harry finds out about the dragons Charlie Weasley is there and talks to Hagrid about the dragons while Harry watches from under the Invisibility Cloak. Igor Karkaroff follows Hagrid and Madame Maxine.
    12. Harry meets with Sirius and Buckbeak in person in a nearby cave.
    13. Moody suggests Harry use a Summoning Charm, and Harry practices with Hermione. The dragon never breaks free and Harry remains in the arena.
    14. It is mentioned that Fleur is the granddaughter of a Veela, a species that seduces those attracted to women.
    15. Harry and Ron overhear a small argument between Hagrid and Madame Maxine, where Hagrid reveals he is half-giant. Harry spots Rita in her animagus form as a beetle.
Rita publishes an article about Hagrid being a half-giant, causing him to isolate himself. Professor Grubbly-Plank replaces him as the Care of Magical Creatures teacher. The trio and Dumbledore visit Hagrid and try to convince him to return.
    16. Barty Crouch Snr ends up getting sick and Percy Weasley replaces him as judge. Harry sees Barty Crouch’s name on the map doing odd things, making him suspicious of Barty Crouch Snr. The trio visit Sirius. He tells them about Barty Crouch Jr, who was a few cells away from him in Azkaban. He also mentions the Crouch family’s recent history.
    17. Dobby gives Harry the Gillyweed.
    18. Harry finds Barty Crouch Snr going mad and asking to speak with Dumbledore. Harry goes to Dumbledore, who follows him back to Crouch. They return to an unconscious Krum, who was attacked by Barty Crouch Snr.
    19. In The Pensieve Harry sees Karkaroff, Ludo Bagman, and four other dark wizards on trial, one of them being Crouch Jr when he was a teenager.
    20. The Quidditch pitch is turned into a maze. The quidditch team is outraged.
    21. Harry sees Mr. and Mrs. Weasley before the third task. Fleur takes interest in Bill here.
    22. In the maze Harry also faces a Sphinx, Blast-Ended Skrewts, and Boggart in the maze. Harry and Cedric team up to fight a giant spider and go to the cup together.
    23. When Harry and Voldemort’s spells connect, the stream turns gold. Harry’s parents, Cedric, Frank, and Bertha Jorkins appear, each of them getting a chance to speak.
    24. After being given Veritaserum, Barty Crouch Jr tells them how he escaped Azkaban, what he did to his father, and how he got Harry through the trials. The book also mentions that Barty Crouch Jr was thought dead the last few years after his father helped fake his death. He then kept him under the Imperius Curse to control him. Crouch Jr is later executed with the Dementor’s Kiss.
    25. Fudge argues against Dumbledore, McGonagall, and Harry in the Hospital Wing. He does not believe Cedric was killed by Voldemort.
    26. There is a background plot between Fred and George and Ludo Bagman. Fred and George bet that Ireland would win the world cup, but Krum would catch the Snitch and Bagman gave them high odds. Bagman paid them in Leprechaun gold which vanish hours later. They spend the rest of the movie trying to corner Bagman to get their money off him. He forces them to agree to double or nothing on the Tri wizard cup, and flees when he looses that.
    27. Harry won the tournament prize money, intending to give it to Cedric's parents. However, they declined his offer. Eventually, he decided to give the money to Fred and George instead.
    28. During the journey back to King's Cross, Hermione discloses that Rita Skeeter is an Animagus and that she managed to capture her in a jar.

The Potter family was already very rich to start of, especially because its founder was the inventor of Skele-gro (the same potion used to regrow Harry's bones in Chamber of Secrets) and would sell cures for his Muggle neigbors' afflictions. Then, Harry's grandfather invented a haircare potion that became very popular, especially with American witches, whose sales caused his already vast fortune to grow four times as much. Later in life, Harry's grandfather sold his company for a small fortune, in this way increasing the family's wealth even more. So... the Potter family are not just a rich family... they are rich even in terms of rich families.
However, the Potter family was not just known for their potion mastery, but also for their work in the wizarding world. Abraham Potter was one of the twelve original American Aurors and Henry Potter (Harry's great-grandfather and his namesake) was a member of the Wizengamot (the wizarding court of law and parlament) and a great supporter in helping Muggles during World War I, something that actually earned him nothing but infamy between the purebloods supremecists that used that to exclude the Potter family from the Sacred Twenty-Eight (the list of Bristish wizarding families that are trully full blood).

Ron being jealous of Harry may look a little childish, but once you take a deeper look, you get to fully understand why he react that way. Ron is the youngest out of six brothers, with each one having accomplished great things in Hogwarts: Bill (the oldest) was the most talented and popular student of his year (more than any his brothers would ever be); Charlie (the second oldest) was not only popular, but also a talented Quidditch player (his love for dragons was the only reason why he didn't become a professional Quidditch player playing for the national team); Percy, despite being unpopular, still got the best grades of his year and became Perfect and Head Boy (something only his oldest brother managed to do); and then we have Fred and George, who were both popular and infamous for their pranks. Even Ginny was able to outshine him... So, yeah... It's no wonder that, when his famous best friend got chosen to be a Triwizard champion, he just couldn't handle it and he discharged all his frustrations on Harry.

It led to a lot of things that should not have been cut, being cut, beyond what was cut due to time constraints and the length of the book, the inclusion of scenes that weren't necessary, as well as scenes, things, and characters being vastly misinterpreted or misrepresented (Dumbledore yelling after Harry was selected vs asking him if he did it calmly; Beauxbatons and Durmstrang being single gendered schools instead of mixed; the maze in general, for example).

The duel between Voldemort and Harry was interesting, and unique.
If you remember back in the first movie, when Harry got his wand, he was told that his wand contained a Phoenix feather, and the phoenix in question only gave two feathers. One in Harry's wand, the other in Voldemort's wand.
When two wands that are twin cores (such as Harry's and Voldemort's) try to duel, it will create a magic gold cage around the duelers, and the winner's wand (Harry was the victor) will force the other (voldemort) to show the spells it had casts in reverse. This effect is called "Priori Incantatem" and a stronger version of the Priori Incantato spell that was used on Harry's wand after the World Cup.
In this case, since the previous several spells were of the Killing Curse, it also revealed the ghosts of those who were killed by that spell. In this case, Cedric, the old man, and Harry's parents.

So, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang are actually both coed in the books. Even, Ilvermorny the American wizarding school from the Fantastic Beasts was also a coed school. I don't know of any wizarding schools in the Harry Potter universe that were either just male or female schools.

Yep as you said SHIT ton of stuff left out of this film. Lots of context completely removed and some characters made one dimensional to save time.
For example Krum wasn’t some stoic mean badass in the books dude was actually shy as hell and had a major crush on hermione. Dude just looked scary as hell.
36:30 And their was a reason why so many people were completely enamored by Fleur. She is 1 quarter Veela, which are beautiful magical creatures that could entrance and charm humans.
Her being part Veela meant that she would mistakenly charm male students just by being around them. One of the few changes that made since making Beauxbaton an all girls school.
Also the elves were completely cut out some of which were very important in later books
The merpeople being homies with dumbledore so none of the children were truely in any danger

She was able to do the last challenge because placement in the tournament wasn't about elimination but timing. So being in last place, everyone else got a head start with Harry going in 1st as he had the highest score. It was a book detail the movies glossed over.

My favourite thing in the books that isnt in the movies is that the weasleys do just punch people in the face. In the wizarding world they seem to only duel but the Weasleys can and will punch you in the face and its glorious. (i can think of three times- Arthur punches Lucious in the second one, ron punches malfoy at some point and the twins and harry three vs one malfoy after he makes fun on mrs weasley.) my headcannon is that Arthur in his love of muggles, saw like a boxing or a wrestling match, thought it was so cool and taught all his kids.

The movie completely removed the concept of points. By the time of the 3rd task the one with the most points gets an early lead in the maze while those with less points go in later. Fleur didnt retire from the tournament after the 2nd task. She just got last place

The thing about books is, you can dedicate a whole chapter to a character or event that wont come back later in the story. You " cant do that" in movies. Everything revolves around the PLOT, if it doesnt move it foward, leave it out.

The lesson where fake Moody shows the unforgivable curses is explained more in the books. He says Dumbledore said they should see it as he thinks the kids are "made of stronger stuff" than the ministry thinks, and that normally those curses arent to be shown until youre in 6th and 7th year. Which implies as a teacher you do have an exception to the ban on the curses for the purpose of practical demonstration. This is required learning as if you want to pursue law enforcement as a career post school, you may have to face dark wizards who would be using them so you'd need to know about it, how to defend against and if necessary how to use it yourself. During the war when Voldemort was still in power the ministry authorised the Aurors (police) to use the unforgivable curses against suspects, including the cruciatus curse to torture information out of Voldemorts followers or to outright kill during a fight if they resist arrest.
More interestingly, Moody goes on to explain that true willpower is needed to cast the curse, and you really want to kill the subject. He explains that all the students could point their wands at him and say the incantation and he doubted he'd even get a nosebleed. He then goes on to subject all the students to the imperius curse to try to teach how to resist it, Harry was the only student able to do so.

Goblet of Fire is my favorite of all the books and movies. The most important parts for me is when Harry and Cedric first get sent to the Graveyard, along with the part of the fight that was cut. Also the missing scenes with Moody leading up to Crouch Jr’s reveal after the fact.

If you are in a maze, run your hand along one wall (either left or right) and do not separate. This doesn't lead to you straight to the exit, but it does ensure that you will never double back to the same place, leading to your eventual success. As my favorite band says: "Place your hand against the wall and follow every contour 'til you're free." It's a great metaphor for life as well :)
