As a Phillies fan and a Chase Utley fan, thank you Dodgers, for putting this together! Thanks for taking care of our guy and treating him with the respect he deserves at the end of his career!! This gave me goosebumps!!! We love you, Chase!!
Chase is beloved here in LA. Says a lot about the man when he wasn’t here a long time but left a huge impact. He is still with the organization and was at spring training.
He was always a thrill to watch as a Philly and I had always wished he was a Dodger. Luckily that came true in 2015 when they traded for him. He wasn’t the prime Utley but he became a mentor for the young dodger core. I have a lot respect for him and glad he’s apart of player development for the Dodgers.
What a career Chase Utley has had. I watched his career since I was in high school and I was very excited when he came to the Dodgers. His time with them has been a positive experience for him and the team and I hope he stays affiliated with the team in some way in the future. Thank you Utley, 👏👏👏⚾⚾⚾
I will never forget the time the dodgers traveled to new york to face the mets following their post season loss to them the previous season (2015). As some of you might remember, chase was involved in a controversial collision at 2b which resulted in the injury of the mets ss. Ny mets fans, players, and even upper management unfairly criticized chase, and tried to label him a dirty player, even though he has always played the game with class and honesty. When chase utley came up to the plate, the whole stadium was roaring with boos. In fact, i don't know if I've ever heard mets fans cheer as loud for anything as loud as those boos were. Utley answered in the most glorious way possible. I believe he finished the game with 2 home runs, one of which was a grand slam. He single handedly silenced that crowd, and the dodgers blew out the mets in a laugher 9-1. Chase never once taunted the fans, made any gestures. In typical fashion, he rounded the bases and behaved as though he'd been there before. That was the moment in which he won me over. The way he carried himself, played the game, handled that situation left me in complete admiration. This is how all men should strive to be.
Well written. We were so lucky in Philly to see Chase play. Simply , the best 2nd baseman of his time. If fans in other cities could have watch him play as we did in Philly they would ALL understand why he is so beloved. “THE MAN”
*sigh* From Phillies fans everywhere, thank you Dodgers for putting this together. Chase, thank you for making the sports dreams of your fan base a reality.
Thank you for this L A Dodgers, As a Phillie fan I can say Chase is loved here and always will be. This vid brought a tear to my old eyes. And thank you Chase Utley for all you have done in the city of Brotherly love.
I know Chase is from out that way but gosh, I sure wish he was still around Philly. My father who's been around since 1929,.saw many great players come and go and die, Chase Utley is his favorite player ever. Out of all those greats, it's Chase ! He of course, is my favorite as well. We love you Chase.
I think what we all appreciate, whether you are a Phillies fan, Dodgers fan, or just a baseball fan, is how Chase Utley left everything on the field when he played the game. He played the game hard, and the right way. Love the guy, he is a true role model.
As a Yankee fan I will always remember how he mashed in the 2009 World Series, undoubtedly one of the greatest world series performances of all time, it doesn’t get enough recognition because his team lost
Yeah, I'm Philly native I watched that series on state road Doc unfortunately..but the year before VS the devil rays I think it was, with the rain delay, I think the game was postponed until the next day something like that.. that's when the Phillies went back to back 1-1
Im from Detroit, but I was an Utley fan instantly. Great infield player, great bat speed and also mentally tough. A1, Class act ball player off the field and it is a true testament to his character to want to invest in his family full time. His stats say it all and what a successful career. All the best, Chase!
Should've retired as a Phillie at least on a 1 day contract but either way, he had a great career and thank you, Chase, for bringing the trophy to Philly. World fucking champions!
“Wow new rug!” Fucking love this guy! You will ALWAYS get free cheesesteaks and beers in the entire Philly area! We Love you more than you’ll ever know thanks for making my childhood worth reliving!!!! THE MAN LOVE YOU 26!
Actually, he asked to be left off apparently. Utley was always a team first player. By the way, if you think he was not around during the Series you are nuts. If Utley was bitter about it, he would not be a part of the organization still. He was at Spring Training for a bit and helps with player development.
Chase Utley, you've always been one of my favorite Dodgers! My brother and I always talk about some future day when we actually buy Dodgers jerseys, and who's name/number we'd decide to get. It might be a while before I can buy one, but I just want you to know that I would be HONORED to wear your name one day! Much love to your family! Thanks for everything! :)
@@bornyesterday1895 That, and the fact that he was going to want a huge raise. Add to this the fact that the Dodgers had Will Smith at AAA (now in the majors) and Keibert(?) Ruiz in I believe Double A. The Dodgers have plenty of catching depth and they wanted to drop payroll to get under the luxury tax threshold to avoid the penalties. Grandal had to go.
Just seeing this video for the first time in July 2022, I'm wondering what Chase has been doing since he retired. We really don't hear much about him anymore.
@@sjang816 OMG. Utley faced slides like that himself...he was a middle infielder too. Tejada got a horrible feed from a teammate...THAT is what broke his leg, not the slide. It would be like getting pissed off at a safety for destroying a WR going over the middle when the QB leaves him out to dry. Fricking crybaby Mets...that was the way baseball was played for literally a hundred years until you threw a temper tantrum about it.
my mum is best like to the man(utley) : and. she.. love dodgers .. and she watch to 2020 win blue and she is gone . she goes to heaven Today, I miss the Utley that she loved so much.
The guy played with intensity everyday, obviously big part of winning in '08. He gets a free pass for the remainder of his life from us Phillies phans.
The historic trio is officially done now with Ryan Howard’s retirement night the other day , the best trio the Phillies ever put together and maybe that baseball ever put together with Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley, and Ryan Howard, now we have the trio of “Hoskins Harper and Realmuto”?? Lol
Not the best ever. Not even close. Best for the Phillies? Yes. Cincinnati's in the 70s was pretty sick. The Cubs combo in the 80s was pretty sick. Not to mention Tinker, Evers and Chance.
As a Phillies fan and a Chase Utley fan, thank you Dodgers, for putting this together! Thanks for taking care of our guy and treating him with the respect he deserves at the end of his career!! This gave me goosebumps!!! We love you, Chase!!
except for when they completely left him off the post season roster knowing he would never get another chance to be in a world series again....

I’m a Yankees fan cryin at this 4 years late 🫡😆
I grew up watching Brian Dawkins interceptions and Chase Utley home runs. It hurts knowing that I won’t see either happen ever again
As a Dosgers fan...
I can only name him one thing...
The last of the Mohican...
Thank you Chase
*Dodgers - watch your day drinking consumption. 😂. Just kidding bro I love the *Dodgers. I feel like a douche

They missed the perfect opportunity for the Harry Kalas saying "Chase Utley, YOU ARE THE MAN"
Great ballplayer. Even better human being.
True class Dodgers, Chase Utley, you are the man!
5:29 left him hanging
Playing the game the right way.
The MAN who terrorized the Mets 👍😄 I remembered those games 😂

I wish u could play for Philadelphia again I love u chase
Gave me the chills
Miss u chase, amazingly fun years in philly.
CHASE UTLEY YOU ARE THE MAN!!!
They lost the World Series when they left him off the roster, he was the heart and soul of the Dodgers.
Exactly what I thought.

GunsnRosesfan2012 wait a minute, if I’m not crying that means you’re crying therefore it’s an endless loop.
@@jedidr4918 Ok blame me for I am crying :)
Looking at the team just sitting there you can just see they’re all ball players who worked hard as hell to be just that 😂
Ayyy, I was at game 2!
not really a dodgers fan but i like what your doing with the back stage thing
THE MAN

I hope his kids grow up to get into the big leagues
A clutch guy.
Chase Utley the man
Take Grandal with you
William Durazo Grandal is gone he’s a free agent
Yes bro.
Why didnt the Dodgers want Grandal?
Was it that he not good enough defensively ?
The only thing i can see.....

There was a time my son hated Chase Uttley! Philly killed the Dodgers. But then he became a Dodger and he became my son's Favorite
That is how you know a good player. When he plays against you, you hate him with a passion. If he plays for you, you love him with an equal passion.
“Champions, world fuckin' champions!”
His son's swing even that young has a lot of Chase's motions. Cool to see.
hero
We will miss you chase.⚾️
We will miss u chase
Good luck man
Grew up watching this guy
Legend. FOREVER PHILLIE
Thanks Chase for the great memories. A true Philly
Damn I hate it when they say their last goodbye and go into the locker room.
Philly misses you. Chills.

They sure did treat him better than they treated Ryan Howard.
Looks like Andrew Toles nodding off around 0.28, which might speak volumes about his present absence from spring training camp. just saying.
Really sucks the Dodgers failed to get you another title, Thanks Chase

He pretty much killed the Dodgers in 2008 & 2009 NLCS’s. suprised Dodger fans love him so much
Really you’re shutting it down cause your age but never the less a great player!!
He needs to get into public speaking/mentoring young kids
