i love such flavorful tases, such as this and the yoshi's island 100%; i really appreciate when tasers go out of their way to make a spectacle and have a fun time instead of just plowing forward

I'd say they're absolutely entertaining to watch though and show what is theoretically possible to do in a game's mechanics. Taking the time to show off all these tricks is half the entertainment. @@jacob8693 to make good use of technical game exploits, at least in SMW, you need to know how the game works internally. for example the glitches with yoshi that let you spawn new objects involve out of bounds memory reads, enemy slot manipulations etc.. you can even make the game execute code from out of bounds memory pointers

I remember watching a show on RUclips that did just that. It tried to provide commentary on a lot of different TASes. But it was only in French, so you wouldn't really be able to... you know... understand the commentary and everything. It was called Speed Game, if I recall.
Probably it was never intended to ride on a Yoshi there and Yoshis Sprite isn't loaded with the level, so the game tries to display the sprite which it thinks is loaded in the correct Adress, but since it isn't it displays some weird madness... That or the TAS glitched the game yet again and messed up with the Sprite Values. One of Both.
Mario took advantage of some quirks of the game's sprite spawning rules to spawn a Koopaling boss. The Koopaling is invisible and glitchy, since it wasn't initialized correctly, but it can still be killed and the level will still end upon its defeat.
Yeah going into the “night sky” with wings converts yoshi blue. Those levels are always supposed to involve a return to the main level which would convert yoshi back to green, but the run bypasses that through i-have-no-idea. It interesting that on the level chooser map yoshi remains blue. It makes sense from a programming perspective how that might happen if you have a centralized “yoshi color” access point
This 2-player co-op is great for everyone and any generation, I really like this game and how this speed run turned out to be a perfect play through. It is so entertaining, and amusing to watch this game being speed ran I hope to see more like this someday
I'm only 8 minutes in and this already makes me question reality. It makes me wonder if this is even the same game I've been playing for all these years. It must be exploiting about 200 glitches that I never even knew existed.
I had a glitch happen in a ghost house. You know how there's 5 or 6 blocks with 1 ups? I hit all of those and when the little mushrooms came out, some of them disappeared within 5 seconds after I collected 3. Awkward.

I look back and think how did I even find that many secrets in levels as a kid. I still have my cart and snes and play every now and again. It truly was a revolutionary game.
