Played this game with only one fear that I would fall off the maps if I didn't jump right or didn't catch something in time. Watching this reminded me of the hours I put into this one game of many and I can't IMAGINE the amount of hours put into testing and planning every jump, flip, hit, and any other actions required. Good run. Thumbs up!

That amazing trick with the Metal Cap in Jolly Roger Bay makes me clarify that the metal cap is still usable even though every speed runner doesn’t care about pressing the metal cap switch.
Over a decade later and this TAS is STILL the most optimal so far It'll be interesting to see what glitches and strats pop up to improve it even further though, and it'll be exciting when a faster TAS shows up for 120 stars EDIT: And I think I know how? Though I don't know the tech or anything, but notice how the 100 coin and red coin stars only SOMETIMES appear at the same time (Whomp's Fortress, as an example) since they spawn in close vicinity, yet it didn't happen in Hazy Maze Cave or Tiny Huge Island (despite also spawning in close vicinity). I can tell it can't happen on Tall Tall Mountain as an exception, but if there's a way to have the double star spawn take place on the aforementioned courses, time can definitely be saved!
I think its also amazing that the time in which he beat the entire game with all 120 stars and the point in the video when he collected the final star after defeating bowser is 1:20 on the video. Pretty cool lol.
