I remember seeing an MP2 TAS where you could manipulate other player's dice rolls with perfectly timed pauses. That doesn't seem to be the case here, so all we have is a Mario that's unbeatable at the minigames (unless it's a 2v2, in which case he's carrying dead weight)
If you look at the cut scenes they all show Mario alone - the other playable characters are grouped together. It's also the same grouping in each cut scene, grouping Toad with the princesses; Yoshi with Wario; and Luigi with Waluigi. Looks like Mario is more important than any other playable character in _Mario Party DS_ - he's gone solo to challenge his rival, his brother and his GF just to save the day and defeat Bowser.
What's kind of neat is that half-dice sets can be useful for short-range travel. If you need to land on a tile that's within 5 units of your character, half dice sets give you a higher chance of landing where you want. I'm probably just stating the obvious but I thought that was a neat observation

I wanted a Mario Party for my 3DS and, after some research, found Island Tour and Star Rush both fell flat in the reviews. I bought this instead and have been loving it. I even lost twice on the third board before winning and it added to the fun! Great balanced game in regards to CPU competitiveness.
Star Rush is a great game, I loved it. Top 100 may be something I'd recommend, even. Of course, not to say MPDS is bad at all, but Star Rush is something to try, despite what those "reviews" say. *Island Tour can eat my ass.*

What's kind of neat is that half-dice sets can be useful for short-range travel. If you need to land on a tile that's within 5 units of your character, half dice sets give you a higher chance of landing where you want.
I'm probably just stating the obvious but I thought that was a neat observation

I miss the days when Hudson Soft developed the Mario Party series before they were bought out. I mean, NdCube TRIED to recreate what Hudson did with Super Mario Party but it’s just not the same...
I wanted a Mario Party for my 3DS and, after some research, found Island Tour and Star Rush both fell flat in the reviews. I bought this instead and have been loving it. I even lost twice on the third board before winning and it added to the fun! Great balanced game in regards to CPU competitiveness.
Star Rush is a great game, I loved it. Top 100 may be something I'd recommend, even. Of course, not to say MPDS is bad at all, but Star Rush is something to try, despite what those "reviews" say.
