Although the graphics of the PS360 generation were good, especially the exclusives (whether they were Xbox 360 or PS3 exclusives), these games were somewhat lacking in performance, as many of them ran at 30fps with some drops. But I agree with you that the graphical leap between PS2 and PS3 is much greater than the leap between PS3 and PS4 or PS4 and PS5.
Not really. The PS5Pro offers only small boost to performance and cant increase resolution and framerate at the same time. Uncharted 1/2/3 remasters on the PS4 runs at 1080p and at twice the framerate. Also textures in remasters have way higher texture resolution. I would want to play original version after seeing remasters on my panasonic GT60 plasma (the best TV for PS4 era games).
Nostalgia is one of the factors that can influence, for example, and there's nothing wrong with that. In some aspects, I even prefer the PS3 version as well.
I love the PS3 because: - its still a decent multimedia powerhouse for video, music and pictures - game sizes are still manageable and looks decent even today(realistic yet still feels video gamey at the same time) - its the last generation to have printed manuals and almost all games have physical releases. - its the last sony machine with quality hardware(yes its has the ylod, but controllers in this gen rarely experience drift issues, even DS2s found in the dunp rarely drifts) - its backwards compatible with PS1 and PS2 games(hardware and software on some fat models) - Online is FREE! - its the last generation where sony gave a shit about exclusivity and delivered. PS3 aint dead, Long live the PS3!.... ✊
In what way did the PS4 not care about exclusives? There are tons of exclusives on the PS4. Game sizes are smaller because games look worse. They were always going to get bigger, plus internet was much slower then as well too. Graphics in many 7th gen games have not aged gracefully either
@ so? They weren’t on PC until around 2020 when they first tested HZD. That doesn’t mean your console is now meaningless, especially since the PS4 got all of its big exclusives before they started releasing on PC. Honestly the main reason Sony hasn’t dont much with the PS3 is because of the cell architecture being a complete pain and only porting some select titles, namely Naughty Dog titles to PS4
@@AMG454PRO Probably nostalgia-based. It is obvious that a face lacking shadows, detail, and resolution is not better than that which does have these factors.
@@julbiot9768 Nostalgia has nothing to do with it. I have both versions, and I prefer to play older games with updated/remastered graphics when possible. I'm not saying that the resolution is better on the PS3, but in this case the facial features, colors and shadows look more natural on the PS3, while the faces on the PS4 look a bit more cartoonish due to the unnatural looking glow effect making it look less realistic. Again I'm specifically talking about faces between both versions.
Yes, I also think Uncharted 2 is the best of the trilogy... I haven’t played the other more recent Uncharted games. (I played a bit of the Uncharted game on PS Vita, but I’m not sure if that counts.)
What's crazy to me is I would rather pick playing this on my PS3 than the PS4 version. The comparison is different in a good, however something about the graphics give me nostalgic vibes for the PS3 version . It was truly a masterpiece when this released & I grew up with it. This still holds up as the greatest PS3 game for its era 👍
This saga was definitely the graphical pinnacle of the PS3... a console where the work was practically done. For its part, the PS4 version came to touch up important aspects such as color and textures, but above all the most important thing was a completely fluid 60 FPS, although I consider that the PS3 version is quite close to its successor. 🙏
Yes, the Uncharted game on PS4 has a higher polygon count, greater color contrast, higher-quality textures, and better framerate... as for the higher polygon count, it can be noticed in several moments, such as at 5:52 (check the ground/stone/rock)
It's obvious that the PS4 version being better doesn't make the PS3 version a bad one, quite the opposite, especially considering that when it was released on the PS3, there was nothing like it. Not to mention the fact that most people have difficulty noticing the differences, as they are subtle, although they exist... anyone who played the PS3 version for the first time can be sure that they had just as much fun, if not more, than those who played the PS4 version, whether it was their first time or after playing the PS3 version. Both versions are great for their respective consoles, and it's still a fun game to play. It was because of games like Uncharted 2, among others, that Sony, during the PS3 era, managed to turn the tide in its favor against its direct competitor, the Xbox 360, which was leading the market at the time.
Uncharted 2 has eged pretty well, not just due to the beautiful graphics, but also due to the gameplay and story. I've beaten it 3 times already: 1x on ps3, 1x on ps4 and 1x on ps5.
Second Watch: I've played through both versions. PS4 adds graphical and framerate enhancements to the game. Also a control change. 11:29 the aim and shoot buttons are different between the versions. PS3=L1 and R1 while the PS4=L2 and R2. I assume the change was made for the PS4 version because of the controller's trigger design. Also the PS4 version seems to be more hesitant in aiming.
Nate's skintone change is odd. He is supposed to be only American? His skin looks like a brownish-yellow in the PS4 version. Like they just used a ReShade on him. I think the hair details in his beard and eyebrows are more impressive on the PS3, because it stands out more on the lighter skin tone 9:07
He's the same color, the brightness/contrast/saturation and shader changes make it look like he has a darker skin tone but he's still white, if that that's what you mean by American.

I would agree with you if it weren’t for one small but important detail: the fact that the PS4 game includes all three PS3 games in a single package, as it’s a collection of the three titles that were originally released separately on the PS3.
I have played all three games latetely and remasters not only runs way better (stable 60fps vsynced compared to unstable 30fps with tearing), but also have way sharper image (fullHD) on my GT60 plasma and around 4x times the texture resolution in all three games.
