I've said before..I'd even watch her watering her grass one early morning, and probably get higher rating than any athlete actually playing their games//
When I watch Caitlin Clark play basketball I remember another great basketball player: Mildred Ella "Babe" Didrikson Zaharias. She played other sports including golf. I wonder if Caitlin Clark is more than a generational athlete but an athlete which comes around only once in a century.
You’re probably over 50 I would think to remember Babe if you started watching when you were 4 years old. But I agree 100% with you,and I am 80🤪😂 😂 👍! !
I've known other female athletes with her talent. Multisport phenoms. CC was in the right place right time. I'm happy for her, but she isn't unique in her multisport abilities.
Made sure my golf channel is in place!! And went on the Pelican Golf Club website to check out tickets and bought 2 "Florida Strong" Shirts plus another straight up donation in support of Hurricane victims, sponsored by CC and Annika, I will support her causes! How fitting she is invited to participate in Womens Leadership Conference. I can understand why she is attracted to golf, I have never seen or heard of a golfer getting poked in the eye or blindsided tackled by another golfer, LOL!!
One of the good things about the golf community and commentators is they appreciate her and think very highly of her as a person. luckily most of the the commentators will not be from ESPN I live a couple hours from there. I wish I could be there maybe one of her next golf games I will be able to attend
I’m listening. Just wanted to say that it’s great it will be available to watch at least part of it. . By the way, this isn’t Clark’s first time playing golf with a pro. She played with Zach Johnson in the John Deere Classic a few years ago.
This is great, both the Golf Channel and LPGA have a channel on RUclips. I haven’t looked anywhere else yet. Thank you for the news report. #TeamCaitlinClark 😌🙏🏽❤️👩🏻⛳️🏀🌟🕊️
This is how Caitlin should have been recognised on ESPN while playing basketball. At least the golf channels are listening to what her fans want, and maybe even get a few endorsements through Caitlin. They know what they have, can't wait for the TV ratings, and watch how many fans will be there following Caitlin live on the corse, playing golf, watch carefully WNBA, this is what the fans want, nothing more and nothing less, if I could from germany watch Caitlin play golf I would, I used to watch the pro - am games on TV when I was young, they were always fun.
I don’t know why everyone is so up in arms. A lot of athletes play in the ProAm. Caitlin will bring more eyes to any sport because she is a likable person. Hope they raise a lot of money. I haven’t watch much golf since Tiger stop. I watched for years just to see him.
I forgot about this event, and I'm glad you brought it to mind. I like watching golf, and I would love it if I could see Caitlin's entire round, if they'd show it. I'm not sure why, but I would. Thanks for the video Adrienne.
This just in: Angel Reese has announced that she too will play in the Pro-Am to prove that Caitlin Clark isn't the only reason non-golfing WNBA fans will tune in. While on the course she will be giving interviews and pointers on how to go about self-promotion using someone else's fame.
One thing about golf is they have always understood it’s about eyeballs and excitement-that’s why they embraced Tiger Woods right away, to grow the sport. They know how big Caitlin is, even as an amateur enthusiast, so it’s no surprise they bend the schedule to bring new fans and interest (and thus money) in. The W by contrast is not smart, and not interested in making money or growing the sport.
It's smart on her part to keep the hype around herself going. Her fans are going to support her and LPGA has to be excited for the new eyes. We supported her through the Toxic WNBA season and it's good to see her doing things where she is appreciated for what she brings even if it's a smile, some talent in golf and a dedicated fan base.
Good athletes often transition over to golf. I played division 1 tennis and golf. Golf was just for fun. I can see Caitlyn Clark doing very well in golf.
Thanks for the CC golf info. I’m definitely going to record the round with CC, if I can, or watch it live. It will be nice for everybody that she’s playing with Nelly Korda and the great Annika Sorenstam.
Caitlin is a super athlete. She excels in a number of sports. Baseball, she has a great swing. She excelled in home run derby in the gym. Soccer, she could play on our national team. Golf, look out golf world, here comes Caitlin. And of course basketball.
The Hawkeye wbk season is just getting started and so far it doesn’t disappoint! That and Adrienne Show is taking up the slack time for me!!until cc season is back!
I live in Florida, my brother from Montana who played guard for the SF 49ers called me about business. I told him how much I enjoyed watching Caitlin Clark play basketball and he chimed in: “That woman is a phenomenal player, I’m watching her too!”
I have a suggestion for increasing your enjoyment of watching CC play golf. ⛳️ I know for a lot of people to watch golf on TV, it looks boring. But once you've played the game, you then realize just how difficult the sport is and how amazing these athletes are. And it's not terribly expensive, try finding a 9 hole course nearby, it's actually quite a bit fun.
I've played miniature golf twice in my life. The first one annoyed me, as I'm competitive and like to play real games. The second time was just a few years ago, and it was a whole different type of setup. I came up just short of winning. Ugh! Hahaha! A few years ago, a friend took me out on a driving range. I was horrible, but I enjoyed it. I've never played regular golf, but people say it's really fun. I can totally understand what you're saying: experiencing it makes one appreciate it more.
Totally agree with you. At this point in time, CC is incomparable. She is taking advantage of her position, as well she should...no one stays on top forever. AND, others are cashing in on her position, too...smart marketing and tactics within a capitalist society. Many are "winning" because of the CC effect. We'll see how long it lasts!
I love seeing this, but I'm biased. I was born in PA where my dad golfed a lot and liked watching it on tv with him. I liked watching high school basketball in person. Basketball on TV bored me until CC. I went to U Iowa for college so have been a Hawkeye fan for a long, long, time - before they changed to the current Hawkeye logo type long. Now I'm in Florida and am thrilled CC is playing golf in the ProAm xown here. I won't get up to see her, but my prayers are with her. GO HERKY!
It truly is mind-boggling. The WNBA literally is the only sports Association that is not backing cc however, cc is driving this success. There has to be something shady behind this. It truly is unexplainable and obviously Kathy Engelbert can’t explain it cause she’s not talking about
Obviously the Golf Channel watches THIS channel and can see all the benefits of all the eyeballs, many of them new, that Caitlin Clark is going to bring to the tournament. They know Caitlin is competitive. They are already saying she's a pretty good player. And you can bet your bottom dollar she's going to ask for tips from the most successful woman on the LPGA tour. I'm pretty sure Caitlin just meant that she was going to be playing a LOT of golf during the off season when she said she's going to be "a professional golfer" but if the tournament goes well and she is warmly welcomed who knows what could happen, now, or in the future. If Indiana WERE to win the final this coming season, I think it's possible Caitlin might turn pro as a golfer. Or whenever her contract ends. To be honest, I think she would want to give the new coach and any new talent they bring to Indaian, a real good go, before she quit basketball for golf. But if any of the games seem to be "fixed" like the final seemed to be this season, then I think she would be as well turning pro as a golfer. She's going to be great at whatever she chooses to be. And good luck to her.
