This is how Caitlin should have been recognised on ESPN while playing basketball. At least the golf channels are listening to what her fans want, and maybe even get a few endorsements through Caitlin. They know what they have, can't wait for the TV ratings, and watch how many fans will be there following Caitlin live on the corse, playing golf, watch carefully WNBA, this is what the fans want, nothing more and nothing less, if I could from germany watch Caitlin play golf I would, I used to watch the pro - am games on TV when I was young, they were always fun.

One thing about golf is they have always understood it’s about eyeballs and excitement-that’s why they embraced Tiger Woods right away, to grow the sport. They know how big Caitlin is, even as an amateur enthusiast, so it’s no surprise they bend the schedule to bring new fans and interest (and thus money) in. The W by contrast is not smart, and not interested in making money or growing the sport.

We supported her through the Toxic WNBA season and it's good to see her doing things where she is appreciated for what she brings even if it's a smile, some talent in golf and a dedicated fan base.

I have a suggestion for increasing your enjoyment of watching CC play golf. ⛳️ I know for a lot of people to watch golf on TV, it looks boring. But once you've played the game, you then realize just how difficult the sport is and how amazing these athletes are. And it's not terribly expensive, try finding a 9 hole course nearby, it's actually quite a bit fun.

    • @theadriennerossshow

I've played miniature golf twice in my life. The first one annoyed me, as I'm competitive and like to play real games. The second time was just a few years ago, and it was a whole different type of setup. I came up just short of winning. Ugh! Hahaha! A few years ago, a friend took me out on a driving range. I was horrible, but I enjoyed it. I've never played regular golf, but people say it's really fun. I can totally understand what you're saying: experiencing it makes one appreciate it more.

Totally agree with you. At this point in time, CC is incomparable. She is taking advantage of her position, as well she should...no one stays on top forever. AND, others are cashing in on her position, too...smart marketing and tactics within a capitalist society. Many are "winning" because of the CC effect. We'll see how long it lasts!

  • @jammybilly

Obviously the Golf Channel watches THIS channel and can see all the benefits of all the eyeballs, many of them new, that Caitlin Clark is going to bring to the tournament. They know Caitlin is competitive. They are already saying she's a pretty good player. And you can bet your bottom dollar she's going to ask for tips from the most successful woman on the LPGA tour. I'm pretty sure Caitlin just meant that she was going to be playing a LOT of golf during the off season when she said she's going to be "a professional golfer" but if the tournament goes well and she is warmly welcomed who knows what could happen, now, or in the future. If Indiana WERE to win the final this coming season, I think it's possible Caitlin might turn pro as a golfer. Or whenever her contract ends. To be honest, I think she would want to give the new coach and any new talent they bring to Indaian, a real good go, before she quit basketball for golf. But if any of the games seem to be "fixed" like the final seemed to be this season, then I think she would be as well turning pro as a golfer. She's going to be great at whatever she chooses to be. And good luck to her.

Why can’t The W figure out how to use Caitlin to promote their sport. They can learn something from this situation.

It’s good to know she has other avenues anytime she decides to tell WNBA to kick rocks. She is a phenom for the ages. She must protect herself.

Maybe Caitlin’s haters need to channel their energies to something they would like to do sans basketball. It could lead to increased happiness and joy.

The LPGA knows how to market a super star, to bad the NWBA has no idea how to market a phenom.

It’s just crazy how people want to see her every move. I bet she’s sick of everyone who follows her. She can’t even go to a pacer’s game without getting attention she bigger than Tiger Woods and Steph Curry or Patrick MoHomes just crazy I think our country needs hers to be a phenomenal player at anything she does we need that in our country right now because we’re so divided now she brings people together it’s a lot on her shoulders to deal with. I hope after this golf tournament she won’t be seen for awhile go home to her parents home so she can rest and have peace of mind without getting the attention and just go to the gym and shoots some hoops without cameras seeing her. Just be a 22 year old lady.

The first half of the Fever season with a less than a favorable coach was horrendous (due to poor planning around the Olympic schedule by the WNBA leadership). I submit for discussion that if CCC-22 had a regular schedule and an above average coach she would have broken many more records that would have stood for decades to come. I find very few redeeming qualities with this “professional” organization, the WNBA. They are truly LOST.
