This Course looks at different ways Black People fought back against Racism & White Supremacy between 1492 - 1968. You’re Understanding of Politics is directly related to you’re Understanding of History. We'll analyze History and U.S. History, primarily from the African American perspective, beginning in 1492 with Moors losing control of Granada to Spain and Christopher Columbus sailing on his first of 4 Voyages beginning on August 3rd, 1492 after Spain had expelled the Sephardic Jews on Aug. 2nd, 1492. Columbus helps to lay the foundation of Slavery, Racism, Capitalism and the exploitation of African People and Native Americans.
We'll look at The Haitian Revolution (1791 - 1804) and The Louisiana Purchase 1803 because these 2 events are related, The Missouri Compromise of 1820, Special Field Order #15 (aka '40 Acres and a Mule)', the end of the U.S. Civil War in 1865, General Order 3 and Juneteenth, 1865, The 13th Amendment, The Reconstruction Era (1865-1877), The Red Summer of 1919, The Jim Crow Era, World War I, The Great Migration, World War II, The Civil Rights Movement and the Black Power Movement to get a better Understanding of How We got to where we are Now and Where do we go from here. Unfortunately, some of this history is repeating itself. America needs a massive History Lesson.
