To be fair, Steam was planning on people only installing games from their store when they made it.... Charging port is really all they intended. Stupid of them to try that but it was successful. Still the Ally X seems way way better.
Normally i'm not interested of a retro handheld gaming consoles, but only because it have the PlayStation on it i'm in, defienitily if it can run PS2 games and gotta say E6PLUS looks nice, not too big or too small just a perfect for my hands, I like how it looks like a baby Steam Deck and LOVE those Sky full of stars and defienitily purple green designs because purple and green are my favourite colors, thank you for sharing that new amazing looking Retro Handheld Eta Prime! 💜💚

for a good PS2 handheld you have to look at the Ayn Odin 2 or Odin 2 Mini, for about 300-400$

This is the size I'd expect from Steam Deck Mini. Maybe a notch larger. Steam Deck Mini would be aiming at very specific group of customers. People who want smaller device that can perform as well as standard Steam Deck but be smaller.

Perfect pocket friendly size but right hand side buttons are all wrong.
They're actually convenient that way for N64 with the joystick as the c-buttons.
I wonder how well this runs moonlight. It could be a pretty good client if the wifi is good and the gpu can keep up with decode.

I'm tired of this chipset, use the HIGH END ROCKCHIP so you can still get all the linux distro support. Why haven't retro handhelds come out with the, what is it? 3588 chip set? You know the one that kind of goes toe to toe with the Dimensity 12000 chip and is like on par with an Snapdragon 865.

I''m not a fan installed OS on the SD card. Once it fails you are stuck with a useless console.
All you need to do is back it up and install the image on a reliable sd card with rufus or something similar. It's not a big deal.

@@Gh0styGames - The specs say that it does. ETA mentioned in this video that it'd be good for Moonlight streaming, which requires WiFi. So, I assume it does; but, I haven't seen anyone verify it on camera yet.

@@betag24cn Works too but most people are used to Android and it's settings. For some it's easier to use Android handhelds than Linux ones unless one has used the likes of onion os or batocera.

Does bluetooth and wifi work perfectly fine as is within android for this unit? I like using myboy for GBA emulation and being able to do link play back to an android phone.
With emulation on Android and iOS, having a dedicated emulation device feels somewhat pointless. However, the hardware for this one looks great.
I'm 50 50 on that . I use my s24u and gamesir g8 controller to emulate BUT since we rely on our phones so much it is times when I wish I wasn't locking down my phone playing games , it's nice to have dedicated device sometimes to free your phone up

Rn, not happening but 2025-26 maybe. Developers need to focus on bringing proper Linux ports cause steam deck 2 seems promising but won't be small and now there's also big companies bringing their own handhelds. Snapdragon chips also seem promising if provided enough support.
So get a new phone
Checkout the Air 1S from Ayaneo, it's kinda as powerful as the xbox series S
Otherwise you gotta wait till mid 2025 you'll see handhelds with new radeon 980M gpu that should provide as much power as the xbox one x

Novelty handheld, I'd rather ho for a real handheld, or at least something that can play ps2 at 4x resolution.
Gotta play the luxury tax on those anything that can run PS2 at 4x is gonna cost minimum 350
the odin 2 and steam deck can however they are pricier than the e6
