My TCV failed in the middle of the night driving home. Had no idea what the issue was since I didn’t get this notice. Took it to my mechanic. He fixed it. Found out after that the part was under warranty. Filed a claim. They said it’s void because I took it to a third party. How was I supposed to know the failed part in question was a defective TCV. Horrible car. Horrible company. Submit your story to the class action lawsuit lawyers and keep an eye out for settlements.
@tiplow1 oh man that stinks! Yeah I personally will not be buying a Subaru again. I think I'll stick to my POS Ford at least they're honest and upfront in my experience
My Forester with 48k miles failed the TVC and agency at beginning don’t want to replace the part as warranty, but after a little pain accepted and working normally
Mr .Chaos, we received that same letter right after my wife had the engine light go on and the vision was disabled. I retrieved a DTC with my OBD scanner and the code was indicative of a thermo control valve problem. She took it to the stealership and they replaced the TCV free under warranty. What, but that is not all. A few days later, she was to go on a road trip, so I checked the fluids under the hood and found the expansion tank bone dry. I had a gallon of Subaru Super Coolant and filled the tank. After 170 miles of driving, the next morning I checked the expansion tank and the coolant level was at low with the engine cold. I added coolant to the full mark. The stealership will be receiving a letter from me this week and I hope the general manager will get an eye opener as to what sort of hacks work for him.
Stealership 🤣 sorry about your misfortune there's a chance that after doing it it could have had a good Hefty air pocket which is why your Reservoir was empty is it burped somewhere along the road and sucked in whatever was left and just need some more. Hang in there thanks for your feedback!
@@ChaosExplained Not just Subarus. All new cars are crap. Less and less iron and metal, more and more plastic, fiberglass and rubber. CVT, TCV, VVT, soy covered electrical wires, thin glass, bad suspension, poor brakes, "Infotainment system" with mind all its own...everything is overly complicated...nothing makes sense... Meantime my 1992 Volvo 940 runs perfectly.
I saw the video. We have the 2019 too. We did now receive the letter. Thank you!
We did not receive the letter.
@@batmasterson7091 absolutely!
Every day I become nire convinced that my '18 Outback 3.6 is the sweet sport for recent Subarus.

What were (if any) the warning signs that led to the failure of this part
no heat, you have about 3 or more lights flash on the dashboard its caused by the heat cycle/cooling over and over time the plastic will crack
