Hemp seed hearts are actually significantly higher in Omega 6 (which is inflammatory) than Omega 3 (which is anti inflammatory.) For seeds, you’re better off with flax.
I love learning about ways to diversify my dog's diet! Watching these videos and the perfectly rawsome website have been the driving factor to starting my dogs on raw diets.
I try to mimic feeding a whole egg when I feed eggs. This means feeding yolk, white and shell in the same ratio as a whole egg. My dogs are too small to eat an entire egg. By feeding this way, I preserve balance. It is easy to create imbalances if feeding too much egg that is not in the proportion of a whole egg.
a great informative video!! Why is it you take breaks from feeding hemp seeds / oils every now and again and why do you rotate between the two? Thank you for the great video (: excited to get my dog onto that raw diet GRINDD
This was a really interesting and helpful video, thank you! I always have to hide the eggshell membranes when I supplement with them; my animals won’t take them if offered alone or unmixed into something XD
I make a ‘gravy’ for my cat daily including water mixed with yeast and a mix of grasses and kelp and ground flax and probiotic and a multi enzyme and lysine snd taurine. She gets so excited when she smells me making it. Or if I used the yeast or some of the other supplements in my own food. I mix the gravy with her food snd whatever is left in the plate after she chews up her food she thoroughly licks up. Thanks as always for your tips
I buy it online as well. My fav is one I get on Amazon. It has such a good aroma that I’m tempted to eat it. I only buy human grade products for my cat because the pet industry is not well regulated. Tho there are a few items I get from reputable pet food sellers like raw paws and hare today.
Tried going cold turkey to a barf diet with my 8 week puppy. He ended up getting diarrhea pretty bad after two days. Gave him a little break and he is back on it and doing great! @_@ Has even more energy now.
Hi , love your channel. 2 quick questions . How often should you be giving a puppy raw eggs? And the trace minerals do you put the drops in your dogs water or over his food???
I have found that milk kefir can cause constipation in some individuals so adding water to it may help. This could have to do with an intolerance to something in it. However, even my homemade milk kefir made from raw A2 milk causes constipation. I read something where people traditionally added water to it.
Yess. Now i always take the inside out of the egg. Woe! But they are supermarket quality Is that fine as well? No chemicals? I mean in the Netherlands we have a lot of rules. But they are bleached cleaned
Someone help. I tried feeding my maltese a raw chicken egg (white included) and she ate it just fine after circling around it a little but then her stool loosened and she also had two accidents inside the apartment. I fed this two times in consecutive days but now scared to give her another egg again with her dinner. Should I slowly ease her into it by giving it to her once a week or?
Hey I have a question, I am planning on adopting a new puppy soon and I wanted to know should I start raw diet as soon as I get it or wait it out for a while?
It’s not absolutely necessary, as the wet food already has all the nutrients, vitamins, and minerals your pet needs for thriving, although you can add some meal additions if you want to enhance your dog or cat’s food. A few examples are bone broth, eggs, and even some raw (or cooked) meats. This shouldn’t take up more than 20% of your dog or cat’s food, unless you don’t mind balancing.
i usually just offer my pup water with a measuring cup throughout the day. i hesitate to flavor his water. isn't there such a thing as drinking too much water? i really try to trust his self regulation
Self regulation is usually something you can trust! I just like to supply it if I can. If they aren't interested, they leave it and I just pour it out.
Have the same question. I have read at other website, (credible raw feeding websites), that you can feed eggs 3-5 days a week. Depending on the size and all. I noticed on the video she mentioned eggshells every now and then. Do you know why? also why only 1-2 days? now I am super confused. Thanks. =)
It is hard for me to imagine a dog not consuming the water it needs. However, cats do not have a natural thirst so possibly this could occur in cats. I have never noticed in my 11 years of raw feeding one of my dogs appearing to need more water than what they drink. I wonder how you can tell? Constipation maybe?
@@PawsofPrey The only thing I wonder about is related to something I thought was true about humans. This was that drinking fluids with a meal dilutes stomach acid so you should not drink fluids right before, during or right after a meal.
@@PawsofPrey ah dang true! lol i was told 80/10/10 grind + daily wholeprey was sufficient as long as I also do fish at 10% of weekly intake and eggs but since watching your videos I feel like I'm lost all over again 😭😬
She’s actually made a few informative videos on the different Raw diets including an all meat raw diet. I’d suggest checking those out. Very informative.
Just feeding meat would not be balanced. Gsd stormy has a blog about how just the 80/10/10 ratio diet lacks essential nutrients such as zinc, magnesium, manganese, vitamin d, iodine and more. So no feeding only meat would not be recommended
@@mmelephant81 This is why I was suggesting they check out the other videos as soon as they could since the creator went over all popular raw diets. She explained that an all meat diet lacks certain nutrients which is why she, herself, does a more balanced/mixed(?) raw diet that includes vegetables and other supplements.
I actually found a raw diet kibble! The brand name is nature’s variety instinct the raw brand and it’s a pure raw diet kibble with no extra ingredients! And they have it for dogs and cats! (Beef version) The ingredients for dogs are: beef, beef liver, pumpkin seeds, beef spleen, carrots, apples, butternut squash, ground flaxseed, dried kelp, broccoli, apple cider vinegar, salmon oil, rosemary extract, blueberries, and dried chicory root. The use monomorillonite clay for shape, mixed tocopherols as a preservative, and freeze dry it. (Rabbit version)For cats the ingredients are: rabbit (including ground rabbit bone), pork, pork liver, pumpkin seeds, carrots, apples, butternut squash, rabbit liver, rabbit kidney, rabbit lung, dried kelp, broccoli, apple cider vinegar, salmon oil, rosemary extract, blueberries, and dried chicory root. The use monomorillonite clay for shape, mixed tocopherols as a preservative, and freeze dry it. And they have plenty of flavors too like beef, rabbit, pork, fish, etc… The point is I think you should definitely try this new stuff because it is amazing! The price for a small bag is about 15 dollars and the price for a large bag is about 30 dollars. .

Sounds like a good gravy!
It sounds magnificent! I have a question, do you use nutritional yeast or some other? (Where I live I can't find nutritional yeast)
Don't know if you have a Bulk Barn but near me that's where I get it. You can take as little or as much as you need.

Can we feed soaked hemp seeds too?

Is it possible to add raw to a canned diet? Do a combo?
If your pet does well with this combo yes!
is the 1/4 tsp of deactivated yeast for cat per day?
Yes, but I oftentimes do a little less depending on how much I'm feeding. Don't want to overload the meal.
What brands of kefir do you recommend? I’d like to get some for my cats!
Oh! And for nutritional yeast!
A+ Answers, but any kefir will suffice, really. You can make it from home as well! And I feed NOW brand nutritional yeast

Does anyone know what the recommended portion size, for a 60 pound puppy, is for green tripe?
No more than 20% of the muscle meat portion is sort of the average
Can you add this to wet food also
