Great Video man!! I might built an Eq Mount like this myself in future, since, im actually Intrigued by Your idea + I love Making stuff :D. Clear skies!
Another good one! Were the belts provided in the kit that George sent you or did you have to source those yourself? Also, I am a little unclear as to how you actually adjust the tension with those brackets...
Hello again. They're not in the standard ESP3 kit. I ordered the pulley wheels & belts and the stepper motor drivers from George also. There's an elongated slot where the motor bracket bolts to the mount which allows for tensioning. I've not had to adjust since the initial tension. I found that the bolt alone may not hold it after adjusting so a small shim may be necessary (well I stuck a washer in behind the bracket to stop it trying to slacken). Hope this makes sense?
Another interesting post. I am still awaiting delivery of the kit I ordered last week (delivery date was given as early July) Will you be adding an auto focuser to your set up?
I didn't even check when I ordered them, as 'ethernet cables' were the only specification. I ordered the cheapest white ones and they happen to be CAT6, but I'm sure CAT5 would suffice. These cables have 8 connections and we only require 4 so they're doubled up anyway.
Hi. The brackets are sold by many sellers. Just search Nema 17 brackets. The exact ones I bought are no longer available but they're all the same dimensions. These are the motors I bought : www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252383525398
You can indeed. The build and process will be the same as I've done. Only the configuration differs. Copy the following image for future reference even though it may make no sense yet : i.imgur.com/FX5zpwj.jpg These figures are for the EQ3-2.
Yes (I'm guessing CG-4?) If there's any info you can't find on OnStep, joining the wiki group will allow you to ask those that do know and they do answer.
The EQ-5 is rated for 10kg visual, so 5-7kg AP). Mine is currently managing the 9+kg of my scope. I wouldn't push it for very long exposures with this weight as I'd just end up rejecting more, but I'm happy at up to 45sec so far. 30 sec is better. Remember that's unguided and overweight.
Thoroughly enjoying this series Nugs. Just shows what can be done if you put a bit of effort in. Look forward to seeing this come to fruition mate!
Pfff. I'm not... The next is configuration but I've forgotten loads. It's like starting over for me!
I'm chuffed that you appreciate this though bud!👍
Another excellent video Nugsy thanks for sharing
Thanks for your support Tony!

Thanks and yes, in the coming weeks (all going well)...🤞
Great Video!
A question, what are the specs of the cable (i.e. CAT5 or CAT6 or something else) connecting your motor with the on-step control box?

Hi there, thanks for this video. How did you attached DSLR TO equatorial mount?
Surprisingly easily - All covered in my DSLR video : ruclips.net/video/Iu-nbx_icpE/видео.html
Hi, Where did you buy the brackets and motors?

Do you guide with this mount?
Hi. Not as yet... One day!
Hey. Can i motorise a eq 3 mount using onstep tracker? Please provide some guidance if possible. Thank you

What guiding accuracy do you get with this mount?
thank you
My pleasure.
Can we use eq 4 or eq 3 for this also ?
Btw thanks
