This channel has honestly helped my state of mind and reduced my stress. I am a 36 year old public interest attorney who lives a very stressful life, and I always look forward to your videos at the end of my night. :)
For anyone curious in the comment section about the significance of shaving out paw pads, fur can get matted in between the pads which can be really uncomfortable but also a health hazard. The fur traps in moisture which can lead to a bacterial infection, and also it's easier to clean out debris that can get trapped in there as well as environmental allergens (especially if the dog has sensitive skin in general, it's highly important this area be taken care of consistently to minimize skin irritation). Also, if the fur is so long it covers the pads, walking on hard wood floors is very difficult because they can't get any traction and slip and slid and even fall down which is worse for older dogs. Thank you so much for pointing out why this is important to do!❤️ I really need to shave out my sheltie's paw pads but I need to teach her how to lay on her side on command first, to make the process as least stressful as possible. She's already very good at voluntarily giving me her paws and letting me touch them, but her back paws are pretty sensitive and sometimes she flinches when I try to work on them. It just takes patience and baby steps to get her to be comfortable with grooming, making it a positive experience and like a game is very important to me. If I get one nail clipped or just a tiny bit of her fur brushed, that's fine with me, at least I made some progress and I didn't push her past her comfort zone, it just means I need to work with her to desensitize her. Part of my grooming process is training and open and honest communication with my dog so I can respect her and her boundaries and know when she's had enough and it's time to stop and continue later.
yeah no my dog needs his paw pads shaved regularly as we live in a tiled house and otherwise will slip and slide into everything - the worse thing about him? he hates people touching his paws so we have to use treats, cuddles and everything to work on the paws
Our Huskie/Sheltie mix was the same, I bought a pair of baby scissors with blunted tips, I cut the hair very carefully and she never minded the scissors, anything else she was very reluctant. We walked a lot so she wore her nails down naturally.
@@christinemeleg4535 Aww a shusky! Glad the scissors worked out for you, I've been thinking about doing the same lately since they make it easier to carefully trim her paw fur while she's asleep.
I bought some small scissors with rounded tips and use them very successfully on my two Cockapoos to keep the fur on their pads and between theirs toes trim. They get way fewer snow peas (can’t call them snowballs, but they definite Y hurt the pups on walks) on their feet in the winter now. I started handling and fondling their feet and toes when I first got them so they’re a bit more relaxed when I trim their nails or the fur. Love this channel, have learned so much about caring for the pups, as well as just seeing beautiful animals have a lovely spa day 🐶🐱🐷😍🥰
Hot spots, also called moist dermatitis. Occurs when water stays on the skin under the fur, creating a breeding haven for a bacterial or fungal infection. Topical and ingested antibiotics are often prescribed to treat it. (I'm an animal nerd.)

My brother’s husky can slip out of any harness man has made for dogs. He uses a Houdini move that defies understanding. Only thing that works is a choker.
It's floof. You might be surprised how skinny even wolves get if they're completely shaved. That coat can withstand -60 degrees Fahrenheit temperatures.
@@mariabria2671 I should also add that siberian huskies have the ability to alter their metabolism in extremely cold conditions, which helps keep their internal temperature up. So it's that, and the coat together which allow them to withstand those sub-zero temps.
@COTTICA ELENA You're right. I looked again at the end, when she was on her side. She's overweight. sigh Not her fault. Probably doesn't get walked much, especially considering the heat where she lives.
Reminds me of my husky. Similar fur pattern, but her coat was less fluffy and she was overall smaller (~21lbs) because she was the runt of the litter. Very calm during baths and actually liked being brushed in the summer. When she knew her undercoat was shedding, she'd bring the brush to be and howl until I stopped what I was doing and brush her all evening while she layed on the cool kitchen floor. She also wasn't bothered by having her feet touched either, but would wince dramatically when I clipped her nails. The only time she would really spaz out was if you open a pack of cheese slices or when a thunderstorm was coming.
@@drawnwithlove3499 Indeed although to clarify I did not come up with it, I know I have seen it in different places but the one that comes to mind is this ruclips.net/video/Ezv8gzbtAVg/видео.html I know he says chop not master chef, but same thing
she said a lot of you asked why we shave paw pads so here it is!: we shave paw pads in order for no snow sand rocks or gunk or litter get stuck in the paws this can hurt them a lot if you don't and cause trouble walking thanks for reading this ^^
I think another benefit is that so many people have tile or hardwood (even if fake) floors that having their paw pads shaved gives them extra traction on those floors. They're domesticated after all, and living with us. I saw a meme of a dog sleeping on the sofa with a blankie... "we were once wolves, wild and free. Then we discovered you have couches" .. 😁
Amazing. I do have a husky, and I pity her groomer. Not only is she a freak show and completely incapable of being calm, despite having been groomed since puppy, but she also likes to sing the song of her people non stop. Luca always looks amazing though!
I used to follow someone on Tumblr with a husky named Luca, and that luca was one of 6 huskies in the same houshold. imaging the shedding and groomer bills.
She is truly a queen. A well lovable Husky. Again your channel is quite unique and individual. Your effort has been put in naturally with well thought out attention and love to the individual friend of ours. You personalize your true affection to dogs and even cats by bonding or even helping them in a beautiful way. Those are true pieces of works among many dog channels these days.
I really like how instead of forcing the dog to undergo events that it does not like (such as the happy hoodie), she actually listens to the dog and tries to keep it as comfortable as possible
The before and after shots are dramatically different! Maybe Alice didn’t lose much hair, but she must have deposited a big bucket’s worth of dirt. By the time you were done, Alice looked a bit like a polar bear-white, fluffy and huge. What a sweet natured dog! 🌸
That was the most calmed and relaxed husky I have ever seen on this show. I have feeling that Alice probably had some kind of is desensitive training back in her younger days since she so well bevaved
Also the reason why shaving the paw pads are needed are because it can be very slippery. Especially when they are living in a house that has tiles as the flooring. If it is long , There are many times they can slip and have a lot of injuries due to this. And also it is easier to clean their paws (like what she said.)
The Queen doesn't have to sing the song of her people.. Her cuteness is chubby & older.. us older women don't have the energy to argue when it's a spa day lol

Thank you so much for pointing out why this is important to do!❤️
I really need to shave out my sheltie's paw pads but I need to teach her how to lay on her side on command first, to make the process as least stressful as possible.
It sounds like you care a lot about your dog 🧡, good luck to you on your grooming journey!
yeah no my dog needs his paw pads shaved regularly as we live in a tiled house and otherwise will slip and slide into everything - the worse thing about him? he hates people touching his paws so we have to use treats, cuddles and everything to work on the paws
They get way fewer snow peas (can’t call them snowballs, but they definite
Y hurt the pups on walks) on their feet in the winter now.

My Husky escaped so frequently that I nicknamed him Houdini. He's in heaven now, and I will miss him for the rest of my life.
Ours was the same and we miss her too!
I cant tell if she's chonky or extremely floofy, either way, she's an absolute unit and I'm here for it
She's so happy
It's floof. You might be surprised how skinny even wolves get if they're completely shaved.
That coat can withstand -60 degrees Fahrenheit temperatures.
@@CognizantCheddar 0_0 wow
@@mariabria2671 I should also add that siberian huskies have the ability to alter their metabolism in extremely cold conditions, which helps keep their internal temperature up. So it's that, and the coat together which allow them to withstand those sub-zero temps.
@COTTICA ELENA You're right. I looked again at the end, when she was on her side. She's overweight. sigh
Not her fault. Probably doesn't get walked much, especially considering the heat where she lives.
@COTTICA ELENA no, she isn’t overweight. She’s a normal sized husky. Look at 1:32. That isn’t overweight
Cheese slices? The HORROR!
Srsly can't imagine what could be up with that
@@crackwitz she really, really liked cheese lmao
@@solblackguyso it was like a spaz out due to excitement? Lol
Me, having no clue about grooming, huskies or dogs in general

@@drawnwithlove3499 Indeed although to clarify I did not come up with it, I know I have seen it in different places but the one that comes to mind is this ruclips.net/video/Ezv8gzbtAVg/видео.html I know he says chop not master chef, but same thing
I love how she looks like she's smiling through most of the video.
I love her smile. She’s ready for her glamour shots! Plus, she’s the calmest Husky I’ve seen in a while. 🐕
She is not to be bothered with negative, unseemly displays of emotion. "I'll lay down now".
she said a lot of you asked why we shave paw pads so here it is!: we shave paw pads in order for no snow sand rocks or gunk or litter get stuck in the paws this can hurt them a lot if you don't and cause trouble walking thanks for reading this ^^
I think another benefit is that so many people have tile or hardwood (even if fake) floors that having their paw pads shaved gives them extra traction on those floors. They're domesticated after all, and living with us. I saw a meme of a dog sleeping on the sofa with a blankie... "we were once wolves, wild and free. Then we discovered you have couches" .. 😁
They also perspire through their paws and its a cooling mechanism. If that area is solid hair. It will affect hem cooling off
Amazing. I do have a husky, and I pity her groomer. Not only is she a freak show and completely incapable of being calm, despite having been groomed since puppy, but she also likes to sing the song of her people non stop. Luca always looks amazing though!
Beauty is pain, except in this case the only one in pain is the groomer 😂
I used to follow someone on Tumblr with a husky named Luca, and that
luca was one of 6 huskies in the same houshold. imaging the shedding and groomer bills.
Alice is stunning!!!! What a well behaved good girl! ❤️
Alice looks amazing, and she didn't "sing the song of her people," not even once.....wow!!!! Love this! ♡
"RIP to that skunk"

She is truly a queen. A well lovable Husky. Again your channel is quite unique and individual. Your effort has been put in naturally with well thought out attention and love to the individual friend of ours. You personalize your true affection to dogs and even cats by bonding or even helping them in a beautiful way. Those are true pieces of works among many dog channels these days.

My initial reaction when she was all dry was just *"OOOOO SHE FLUFFY- LORD SHE FLUFFY"*
I really like how instead of forcing the dog to undergo events that it does not like (such as the happy hoodie), she actually listens to the dog and tries to keep it as comfortable as possible
Oh my gosh, she's the best girl!! I wanna hug her!
Her demeanor is that of a dog who belongs to an aging Duchess. I'm so so here for it
I'm crying, she looks so fluffy.
Especially with that black wrap on her head 😂😂
Your descriptions of dogs always makes me laugh. She truly is a perfectly sculpted fluggy giant marshmellow.
She was having a blast. She clearly liked and trusted you.
Ikr she didn't even sing the husky song
The before and after shots are dramatically different! Maybe Alice didn’t lose much hair, but she must have deposited a big bucket’s worth of dirt. By the time you were done, Alice looked a bit like a polar bear-white, fluffy and huge. What a sweet natured dog! 🌸
I can't believe how docile she was, especially when you got to her paws!--what a good-natured dog!
1:24 so cute! She looks really calm throughout the whole process
Alice’s big smile makes me smile
“I want her owners to be amazed at the difference in their dog when they pick her up”
I’m amazed at why and how she hasn’t floated and joined the other clouds. *SHE CLEARLY IS A CLOUD*
A husky that has never seen you before being so calm? Damn, thats one well-trained dog!
I had a husky who never barked or howled! He was super smart and liked to escape but never bad for the groomers, always got compliments afterwards ❤️
She doesn't howled and barked at all during the grooming session: incredible quiet husky dog! And she's stunning, gorgeous! Fantastic job.
I'm so excited for this beautiful Husky. I love husky's.
