Love these videos! Seeing China's softer side very rare

Outstanding video footage, but the dubbed vocalizations of domestic cattle are totally inappropriate and distracting. Takin sound very different than that, and are rarely that vocal.

Surprisingly, the closest living relative of the Takin (Budorcas taxicolor) is the Muskox (Ovibos moschatus), they are both the only two surviving members of the tribe Ovibovini, which belongs to the subfamily Ovibovinae alongside the other two tribes Hemitragini (Tahrs) and Naemorhedini (Gorals, Mountain Goat, Serows, and Chamoises), the Ovibovinae subfamily is most closely related to the subfamilies Hippotraginae (Grazing Antelope) and Alcelaphinae (Hartebeests, Wildebeests, Damalisks, and Hirola), all three of these subfamilies form a clade that is basal to all other living bovids as muskoxen, takins, gorals, mountain goats, serows, chamoises, tahrs, grazing antelope, hartebeests, wildebeests, damalisks, and hirolas all have more primitive features compared to all other living bovids.
