  • We talked all about the big headings, assets, liabilities, equity, but let's break those down a little further. We're going to dive into some accounts, let's talk about the equity account OWNER INVESTMENT/CONTRIBUTION.
    Definition You Need to Know: Owner Contribution is the account used when you put money into a business to either start-up the bank account or to replenish the bank account when funds are low. Money deposited into the business bank account isn't always income to you, classifying it as equity, means that it won't accidentally be picked up as income and taxed.
    Where are they on my financials? Owner Investment/Contribution is an equity that shows up on the balance sheet.
