I used to watch this when I was a wee lad. It comes on after school around 5PM or 6PM. I'd always hurry home just to watch it along with Mazinger Z and Grendizer on some other days.
The Samurai chewing gum cards were our prized possessions 1964 to 1965. This series was part of our childhood. This and Phanthom Agents, along with Astroboy and Prince Planet.
In the early 70s, mum would wake us up before school at 6an in the morning, Sydney time we would watch Shintaro, while we were getting dressed in front of the tv. Oh the memories
No school started at 830 am but she would wake up at 6 to go to work so she would wake us up to so she could make us breakfast and we would eat breakfast and then slowly get dressed all by watching shintaro
When "You only live twice" came out in 1967 and the Japanese Secret Service with Tiger Tanaka used Ninjas when they attacked the Spectre base we Aussies knew what they were talking about. W
WHERE CAN I GET THIS??? I was informed by my father about the samurai film he had watched in 1960’s to 1970’s. He forgot the name of the movie. It was a TV series. What he remember was a scene whereby the hero (samurai) threw a plate in the air and quickly slice the plate before falling to the ground just to show bad guys how good he is in sword play. Another scene he remembered was during spring season he and the leader of a bad gang waited for a leaf from a Sakura tree to fall to start the fight. When samurai knew he might lost the fight he tied the leaf with a string to prevent it from falling just to cancelled the fight. The film was shown by Thailand TV channel. The samurai hero uses 3 swords. 2 swords by his right and left waist and another long sword at his back. The hero is one eye jack with scares to the blind eye.
This is my favorite tv series when i was a young boy. I love this.

I remember watching this as a kid in the very early morning and believing 100% it was real, not actors or a TV show. Was mesmerising😯
