Does Charging Your Phone While Off Make It Charge Faster?

  • So this video is a bit of a myth-busting episode, I suppose. You see, there are little things in the tech world that we all say to each other and assume are true but I feel like should actually be tested and proved right or wrong. One such thing and what I want to test today is the claim I've heard over and over that if you turn off your phone while it is charging, it'll charge faster. So I grabbed an Android and an iOS phone (P30 Pro and XS Max to be specific) and charged them both for 15 mins while on and while off to see if there was any change in the speed. Here's what happened.

Thing is, I left my Ipad air 4th gen charging this morning for about 3 hours is it bad? I always charge my Ipad turned off., I usually turn off the IPAD right away whenever I plug it and I always charge it when it reaches 30-40% amount of battery left. Is it bad that I always charge it turned off? and I left it around 3 hours? Its kinda heated up a bit when I discovered that I left it charging for 3 hours.. please answer thanks! Ive been checking and reaserching lately lots of people say that it has an anti overcharging technology.. but does it still work? that anti overcharging tech when IPAD charges when its turned OFF? because by default apple products turns on whenever you plug it but I turn it off right away when I plugged it. does it make any difference?? thanks!!

I don't know about what this video was showing me but I know from personal experience when I charge my phone why my phone is on it takes a good 10 minutes for it to get a few charges ahead. I have noticed however when my phone was off it took less time to get to the same charge and yes I timed it using a by checking the time on both. If it's taking the same amount of time in fact I'm willing to bet you need a new phone.

They are not faking I don't know why you would think that. Batteries have to be charged slower when they are more than 50% full otherwise their life span reduces dramatically. That is why they charge rapidly until 50-70% but then drop in speed so that your battery will last you 2+ years instead of 6months

Complete nonsense. He did not play a powerful 3D application. For example, if he was playing PUBG at that time, the difference would be.
