Even on days she didn’t recognize him, he acted like they had just met and he would wheel her out of her room to sit near a picture window and they would fall asleep. He held on as long as he could even though every second without my grandmother was like a stab in the heart. But he did it for us to keep living as long as he could because he knew that is what she wanted. I know he is so happy now they are together once more.
