Bruh it's because of Clyde is became a bulls fan. Mjs style is similar to Clyde. I remember Pippen had to be the one to guard Clyde but Clyde would guard Jordan. He made Michael work whenever they play and many time it wasn't enough. Hence why Scotty had to take over on the D. Mike would hurt him with the offence

I agree . That team was no joke . If they would’ve gotten Sabonis in 89 or 90 , maybe they beat the bulls or Pistons and get pass the Lakers in 91. They gave the bulls all they could handle in 92. If it weren’t for that amazing in game 6 in 4 th quarter . There would’ve been a game 7 . Bulls would’ve been in trouble. Drexler was one of the few guys that could go toe to toe with Jordan . That team along with Utah really scared me as a bulls fan .

They were establishing the amateur basketball association in my Caribbean island in the mid to late 80s and were using the NBA rules and model. Naturally I took an interest so from then I loved watching the greats play, but I never really had a favorite player. I just knew I loved the Celtics. Then came Clyde. His smooth style of play and handle was different from most. He was my dude for a good minute even if his team never won a championship. I loved that they still tried their hardest and never backed down. He is the reason why I loved Michael Jordan as soon as I first saw them play against each other. I was like what? Still dude smoother than Clyde?? Shortly after the bulls started being too contenders. Big up Clyde the Glide. He got that name for a mf reason!

At the time they wanted an off court personality also. Remember the other top names in sports around the time? Bo Jackson, Dione Sanders, Andre Agassi. They had edge. Clydes personality off court was like someone's dad, as good as he was.

Imagine if he played with prime Sabonis. Maybe we would've seen a team rivalry between the Bulls and Blazers in the same breadth as the Lakers and Celtics.

A very good dunker. He did some cool dunks in his days with the blazers.

One handed palming it in Jordan's face!
He set him up for the okie doke like Apolo Creed winding up in Rocky 2!
    Even drew the foul-nasty!!
Watch his legs kick out while he's in the air for that extra hang-time
    WOW

I'm a Celtics fan thru and thru, but Clyde was really nice from the mid 80s thru mid 90s, and I think people don't realize how good those Trail blazers teams were. He could palm the ball and leap like Jordan, and was so smooth. He didn't have the post game and the mid-range, or turn-around fade away like MJ. He didn't have those lethal go to moves, but I still put him in my Top 5 SG's of all-time (Jordan, Jerry West at PG or SG since he played both, Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson PG/SG, and Clyde Drexler). John Havlicek and D. Wade are right in that mix too, but I think John is more of a SF.
