  • This short travel video takes the viewer to our favorite hike in Bryce Canyon National Park, the Navajo Loop. It begins at Sunset point and is one of the most popular trails in the park. It's easy to see why. It is beautiful. Although it is a steep hike, basically going straight down switchbacks, then back up again, it is worth the strenuous hike. It helps to know it is only 1.3 miles long. Once you are down at the bottom of the hoodoos, there is plenty of area to explore, if you choose. We recommend doing the hike in the morning or late afternoon or evening, because of the temperature of the southern Utah desert climate. And take plenty of water. A Hiking stick can soften the pounding of the downhill descent, and help give you a boost on the way back up! The hoodoos and narrows in the orange light of the red rock can be unearthly. You will see all ages on the hike. Unless pointed out, all of the photography taken on these videos are created by J. Omar Hansen on the actual day of the hike. This video is part of a series of videos for people interested in travel, photography, nature, history, natural history and more.
