As a track guy I don't think I'd ever go air because of the added complexity and cost. There's more things to go wrong, it adds weight, and KW V3 and Ohlins coilovers are 2/3 the cost for better performance. But as long as you do take the time to set it up right it can definitely outperform stock on most cars. I think price is a dumb thing to hate something on because that's just preference at that point. However, I think the hate stems more from the stance side. As a track guy, I DO NOT like stance cars with intentionally crazy camber and offset wheels, it all looks pointless to me when I could be having more fun improving the car's performance. I just don't like the style at all besides drift cars and it never pleased me aesthetically, I think well setup track cars look better with functional stance. Since air has that association with stance people assume any car on bags is a stance car and that's not true. Air has many applications and can perform. Whether it's worth the cost for convenience and time to setup is up to you.

Another reason is because a lot of bagged owners can sometimes be elitist. Since it costs so much, I've seen bagged car owners belittle static car owners simply because of the assumed sociopolitical ranks. Just because you can afford 3.5k suspension doesn't mean you're better off, but doesn't stop some people from acting like they think they are. You could say static owners can be bad too, but I see more heat from those who are bagged tbh.

Air is what im putting on my next car. getting into my driveway, speedbumps in the area, bad road design where there is a horrible angle from straight to uphill on the road. even on stock suspension i hit on that. the ability to adjust the height with a switch when you need it is priceless. especially on something you really care about. other cars i do will use lowering springs mostly but for the few dream cars i want to build all will end up on air.

There is a STI running air ride on the track in the Superspeedersrob show called Sorted. The presenters said it drove well on the track and also in the canyons.
I like how MBZ does it, coil spring with bags, back when I did low riders, at Oakland frame and axle, we’d have a short stack of coils in the control arm pocket, so ride quality was not too bad
I was worried when Installed air on the vw dubs and how it would perform during the winter time. And let me tell you it works! No leaks, no frozen lines, nothing. I didnt even but anti freeze in the tank and I live in Canada. If you are thinking about it. JUST DOOO IT!
If I want my car to eventually achieve the perfect amount of slam I'm gonna need me some of that air for manouvering all the speedbump excess and rocky roads there are in Sweden. Also air is great if you want to dabble a bit in showcar but also take it around the track and have fun some times! Still saving though...
Not a fan of super low, intense camber stuff, but I have stock air suspension on my C5 Audi Allroad and the ability to improve ground clearance by almost 5” is insane! I like for more utility purposes, but it does look super clean if you don’t go crazy low and keep things classy.
Except in the 60s cars had leaf springs in the rear and almost no car had coil overs like we see today. Ever worked at a euro service shop and seen the amount of merc Benz with air ride ? Almost always wrecked. How about the gm air ride on Tahoe etc? That being said I love a hardbody on bags doors to the floor!
I've had both Airlift & KW V3's - loved both for different reasons. Often find myself missing the practicality of bags. And yes. Winter conditions were fine. Toss some air brake antifreeze into the tank and she's mint.

I’m fairly new to the car scene, but my biggest issue is the ride height. I went to a car meet last month, and I’d say about 60% of the cars running bags look like they had my monster truck stock ride height
My Audi A6 C7 3.0 Tfsi is on air suspension. I had static suspension on my cars, but still prefer air suspension. You can put it on the ground, easily over speed bumps without braking things, and yes you can ride very low with it. It's not just for show. Nothing more gorgeous than a badass ride that is sitting on the ground. Yes it is expensive, yes you can have issues with it, but so you can with coils. Let's get honest, we all have the same love and passion - - > LOW RIDES 🙏🙏
Air ride is great and I personally love seeing a well bagged car . But driving slammed static is just so much fun it's not practical but fun and you also learn how to drive with patience and it's a pretty good skill to learn to drive a real low car 🤣 I look at it as practice for when I can finally afford my supercar
Building a car in certain areas in the world can be challenging. Especially if you want the more exclusive “real” parts. I had the choice of going on air (accuair cvt) for about 6500 usd installed. That was to much for me as the value of the car according to the insurance was about the same. Went with a more premium coil over because I want te be comfortable on the street and have control on track and choice the Tein Monosport. People with a Z please consider them. They have changed my car for the better. They ride great. All in all it was 2500 out the door. Still not cheap by any stretch but reasonable. Wish to have bags at a few of my other projects. Maybe in the future when my new garage will be finished. Great video. And guys don’t hate bags. They can be very useful
I’m currently installing air lift 3H on my 94 Corrado, I am always taking my time and stalling it took me about four hours to run the front lines so they won’t hear anything.
Please for the love of god, make the first Generation RL included in that though. Same car, just rebadged before the full redesign and before they went J35 in all the RL’s.
I love them BOTH, but Static prevails with ME. IT increases your skills on driving, IT rides GREAT, looks GREAT, and the price, IS what my pocketbook can handle.
I've always been a die hard static guy. Partly because bags were just out of reach financially. But I've saved some money, and I'm tired of replacing oil pans, repainting bumpers and fenders. I bit the bullet and bought an airlift system. Hoping I can drive my car like a car again and be able to be low when I want to be low. BUT In my opinion, most of the hate is from who can afford it and who can't. Who knows how to piece together a manual system or find a cheap used system. It's not necessarily the cost of the air ride it's the price of the install as well. At the end of the day like it or not a major factor in the hate, is money. ♥️♥️ love the vids
I ran into that same situation after my bag got a leak 30 miles after I got it installed and was stuck 4 tow drivers told me no even with the wheel dollies smdh. Now my question is, is there a minimum psi number you can ride on you bag that will cause a leak?
Cold was my biggest hold back I live in good ole’ Minnesota and it gets frigid so I was worried about lines getting frozen condensation the cones the price, which I’d just have to wait for tax return season deals
You forgot to mention that most "car guys" on the internet hate on any aesthetic mod unless it has 1000 hp, and since bags are popular in stance scene they're mostly seen by some as purely aesthetic even if it's not.
Adds complexity to suspension, air lines, tank/compressor, fuses now I also gotta worry about wheel Fitment so it doesn’t run bag...my Bc coilovers have been just fine at 900 dollars, I don’t have it extremely low that I’m scrapping every second I’m driving. I put a lot of work to make my G sit the way it is tuning my coilovers, bags look good when laid out but once lifted to drive the stance changes. I’ll always pick coilovers
Too much effort, cost and management for what you get. I am a bit biased here as i dont like stanced builds at all. Im a rally lover too so my gc8 is on lowered springs with sway bars and control arms and it comes in a lot cheaper, looks clean and feels amazing. Not to mention its perfect for any sort of racing 😛
Static, only because I don’t really care for super low cars. A little lowering can look good, but if the car looks like it can’t get into a driveway with a reasonable incline from the street, I’m over it.
I like them both but air suspension does work real well on drag racing cars a friend of mine has a 6 second in quarter mile ran wheelie bars switched air suspension and did not have use wheelie bars and still runs 6 seconds in the quarter mile
I drive a 370z and often see people remove the rear strut bar for the tank/compressor. It's never seemed worth it to me and would rather spend the money on adjustable suspension or an angle kit
Ok but nobody actually uses air lift for performance. They just use it for taking photos and getting over bumps but its funny because every car I see with air still has the most damaged bumpers its like they dont even air up to get over the bumps idk it makes no sense
Had it on my evo twice tried different setups and I hated both. Sure it looked dope but having the car sit for weeks when shit would break down got old real quick. Never had a bag pop always manifolds or remotes taking a crap.
From someone who had had both, in my personal opinion I enjoy coils way more then air suspension. Bags have a few upsides but not worth the price and the hassle.
I might have possibly spent more on bags for my mk3 Jetta, than I paid for the Jetta itself 🙄😂. Well worth it though, rides great and I don’t have to worry about killing my oil pan

2:30 The remix we never knew we needed 🔥 🤣
Once I get my Evo X I’m gonna bag it and then I’ll be half bagged half static because my MK3 Supra is on BC Coils right now
I like both but coilovers at the same price of bags are better for performance driving overall.
I used lowering springs and coilovers now I wana get air systems for my 2005 Hyundai Tiburon Turbo V6 2.7L project. Try something different
Static, only because I don’t really care for super low cars. A little lowering can look good, but if the car looks like it can’t get into a driveway with a reasonable incline from the street, I’m over it.
Can y’all make a video on the Toyota Cressida? Especially the 1980😍
I would install coilovers but i can certainly apreciate a nice bagged car
I like them both but air suspension does work real well on drag racing cars a friend of mine has a 6 second in quarter mile ran wheelie bars
switched air suspension and did not have use wheelie bars and still runs 6 seconds in the quarter mile
I have a 2008 cayenne GTS with air from the factory. It's 13 years old and hasn't had a single leak and it's been driven 160k
Do fitment industrys supply to south africa?
You guy's videos are like 90's video game commercials.
Not having a sneak attack snuck up on me.
beag
if i had a dollar for everytime he said bæg😂
Do a video based on tracking with air. I know there's a few people out there that do it, but it's not displayed enough
Boutta do this for my 2022 brz
Static so my fitment is on point while I’m stopped and I’m driving
I still want coilovers.... but i won't hate on air though. I have a 9th gen civic si, car is already heavy enough.
Had it on my evo twice tried different setups and I hated both. Sure it looked dope but having the car sit for weeks when shit would break down got old real quick. Never had a bag pop always manifolds or remotes taking a crap.
I would go with a hybrid coil over setup
From someone who had had both, in my personal opinion I enjoy coils way more then air suspension. Bags have a few upsides but not worth the price and the hassle.
Air!! See my T9. Love it also in winter kind regards from Holland!
My accuair setup is bagged coilovers.... Is it more unique than I thought?
I run air on my Audi Mk1 TT and it has completely changed the ride (in a good way) 👍
You guys should do a so you want a hyundai Tiburon
I might have possibly spent more on bags for my mk3 Jetta, than I paid for the Jetta itself 🙄😂. Well worth it though, rides great and I don’t have to worry about killing my oil pan
They do make kevlar enforced bags
