- There's never a dull moment in our garden, because even in the winter, we can start seeds, plant a few things, and prepare beds. We're fortunate to live in a mild climate in Zone 8a. One job that takes some preparation in advance is sprouting potatoes and preparing sweet potato slips. We also have a variety of cold-weather flowers we can plant to keep our garden beautiful year round. This is also the time of year when we use our indoor grow lights quite a bit to start a variety of seedlings, including tomatoes.
I think I'm in the same area you are - this is so helpful, thank you!
You are so welcome! 😊
Thank you again!!
Thank you! ❤️

Thanks!
Just found your channel. I'm in Denton. Hoping to get back into gardening after this freeze goes away. I haven't gardened since I had my baby. That baby just turned 4 so it's time 😆
It's nice to have fellow Texans here. I took advantage of freezing temps and winter sowed some perennials. I hope you get to do some gardening this year. I didn't do much gardening when my children were very young, either. So I understand you!
Its been so mild here my purple sweet potatoe vine is still going ! Spring Tx
I think were getting 30s next week as the low. Hope they pull through
The winter has been very mild so far this year, but this week will be in the low 20s. I'll have to cover my root vegetables.
@millsfamilygardening2634 yes were hitting 30s and i have to move all my citrus and tropical trees in the garage 🥴😫😫.
