The hate on CGI is real here.... C'mon guys, it's not like the CGI were bad.. TBH, the CGI used in the Origins gave the MSs a realistic approach and made each details more apparent without the consequence of in-between frames from a traditional animation. Plus, this isn't like Knights of Sydonia, Berserk (2016), and Kemono Friends where everything was a complete mess of bad CGI. Origins CGI doesn't extend to people and the CGI here looks better. The animation is also crisp.
@@soundywaivy I doubt they are but if we could have more of the CG we got in The Origin I would be happy. Solid CG work that fits with the style of the show.
Bought Zaku II Char yesterday evening. Watching this review, I can honestly say that HG Origin version is the best kit to get new gunpla collectors excited building grunt/Zeon kit. The build is solid, posing is not a problem with little to no part fall off apart from excellent range of articulation, surface detail is amazing for HG level and the price - I can't believe the kit is much cheaper than HGUC Unicorn Unicorn Mode I bought earlier.
This is definitely the best HG Zaku, most accessories, detail, poseability, stability, value, everything you'd want is here and *nothing* is left out. However some may argue the RG looks better, or that the MG 2.0 is a better kit overall due to anime accuracy and the fact it's one of the best MG kits made to date.
It's closer than the modern Origin kits. The origin has panel detail and colors that match the Origin redesigns, while the 2.0 are more anime accurate in terms of that, however they only fail to capture the proportions, which isn't a bad thing in my book.
@@aldo_pinheiro *late reply coming in* I sent him this and a MG Ball. He made the ball and enjoyed it, he never built the Zaku despite it being his favourite MS. I imagine he gave it to his friend who not long after that got into Gunpla.

The Zaku 2.0 was the first kit I got after about a decade of hiatus from model kits in general. That kit is super fun to pose with (although there are some annoying issues with it) and got me back into the hobby. The Psycho Zaku is essentially a Zaku 2.0 kit on the inside but I kind of like the Char Zaku aesthetic better.
Arguably the best, I'd say. There've been a lot of good Zaku kits, but this one has so many great weapons, excellent articulation, and looks wonderful.
It looks to be the best HG Zaku kit. All the accessories are there, not to mention body parts change also included. So yeah. Best HG Zaku kit it is! On another note, it would be funny if the last kit on the Origin OVA line is the Gundam itself, since the first kit is Char's Zaku II and with the Gundam being last, it's gonna be full circle.
for a high grade, i believe so. but it's not entirely surprising because they always find a room to improve zakus no matter what the grade is. even the old HGUC is (in my personal opinion) still one of the most articulated HG out there.
now i only just realized there hasn't been yet an HGUC Revive version of the original Zaku II being made, the Real Grade being a more pricey alternative.
They haven't really made a kit of "the original Zaku II" since 1981 or so. Originally, the Zaku's legs were actually pretty slender. Later on they started bulking up the legs - the MSV Zaku kits in 1984, and then the Hi-Zack, Zaku Kai and Zaku F2 all had the bulky legs, ultimately leading to the Master Grade Zaku in 1995. Even the "Retro" Zaku kits, like the 2002 HGUC and the Master Grade v2.0, retain that bulky-legged design. Personally I think a return to the old slender-leg design would be kind of interesting, and such a kit would certainly not be redundant.
For what reason will they release the normal Zaku II and Char's Zaku II as part of the Gunpla Evolution Project though? You can just paint your Zaku II Origin the "right" colors and that's it. But why would you though? Zaku II Origin has a much better color, especially Char's Zaku II.
For those who have a few sharpies lying around, i have a tip for your heat hawks. Colour the blade with a silver sharpie, then an orange, then a yellow. It's not the best, but it works.
The F2 WAS voted the "best" for a time, but that's only if you are into the design that's more or less departed from the original (not as much as FZ). But that's for a HG kit- MG 2.0 is a solid kit (as are all its variations), but people have complained about its "anime accuracy," as it is such a pleasure to pose and display, but it looks more slim and "serious" (like the RG) as opposed to the original HGUC release, which is probably the most appropriately-chunky version. Origin Type C/C5 is pretty much the definitive Zaku in-general now, although its negatives are the redesigned proportions, excessive (for some, not me) panel lines, and modified bazooka that differs from the "classic" version (this can be remedied by accessory-swapping or buying the system weapon set).
I would love to see the GM equivalent of this, even if it was an older GM like the 2 or Type C but just have a lot of the GM weapons like the beam rifles, bazooka's and regular rifles and pistols.
Love the origin zakus! I have the tri stars mash/gaia custom, and planning to get more in the future. I absolutely love the anti ship rifle. To bad that my silly cat knocked the figure off the table and it broke the peg that held the rifle in the hand.
Not just the best Zaku, it's the bar that ALL high grades should be judged against. Honestly the Origen kits are the best HG kits ever made, period. They have detail and pose ability on par with Real Grade without falling apart. My only complaint is the color. It could have been a more "army" green like the 08th ms team one. But that is personal preference.
The MG Psycho Zaku is basically the MG Zaku Ver.2.0 in R-1A guise. This Type C/C5 HG borrows a lot of tricks from the MG Zaku Ver.2.0, that's why it's as poseable as it is. Bandai ought to release this in MG form. It isn't too hard to adapt the C/C5 changes and apply them to the base MG Zaku II F/J Ver.2.0, and we'd get a lot of weapon options as a bonus.
There is a toe, just a little tricky to notice. You have to pull up on the tip of the tie and press down on the top of the foot. The toe points up and the heel extends down. It's really helpful for getting more intricate poses on the ground.
Just finished this guy. First gunpla I ever got. Pretty happy with him, though if I could I would've done a few things different in how I built him (and probably NOT used the included stickers). I just bought this kit last night. I love it as well but went with the commander head for it. Just waiting for fine tip Gundam Markers to do panel lining.
Yes it is the best. I have RG Zaku II and RG Chars Zaku II because I also love the Zaku type mobile suits. The issue mostly is the skirt armor. Constantly falls off with the slightest touch. All the pipes on the kit are a pain in the ass to make with each of those small armor pieces easily able to be broken ( I have broke a couple on the Zaku II). But they are both beautiful kits when fully built not meant for beginners to the RG line at all. The amount of stickers are amazing to fully customize the Zaku II with different rank stinkers, symbols etc. I say you should pick up either Or and give your own opinion but for me they are both 8/10
The Zaku II MG 2.0 is my favorite kit, and I've built a ton of gunpla. Hardly any seam lines, a great inner frame, and super stable. The only problem with it might be the cables.
The origins zakus are probably the best 1/144 scale zakus. I was skeptical when people said the Zaku 2.0 MG was one of the best MGs but when I tried it I was like hot damn this is nice. Except the fucking tubing, everything else is amazing.

Putting spare ammo on the shield doesn't seem to be the wisest idea.
Enlapan Lima Better to put it on the shield than the MS itself. If the ammo explodes only the shield gets damaged and not the MS itself.
