13 EPIC Overland Rigs vs. 1 ROUGH Trail - Mark Twain Glade Top Trail

- Welcome to one of the most WILD overland trips I've been on in a while. For this adventure, we explored the Mark Twain National Forest in the Glade Top area and were led by the Express Rally team as well as Jason from Ozark Overland Outfitters. This trip had some of the most technical and tight sections I'd ever seen, and we all got our fair share of trail damage. We spent 3 days exploring the Glade Top area and I was shocked how different it was than the Ozarks of central Arkansas. Along for the ride we had a good mix of Jeeps, Land Cruisers, a Mercedes G Wagon, Tacoma, and a couple 4Runners.
I hope you all enjoy watching us explore this area and hopefully it will inspire you to venture up north a little ways into Missouri.

I love the taco. The video really shows that each rig has its own strengths. Still TIRES ARE THE KEY. I was also pleasantly surprised by the Gladiator.

Us Outdoorsman's. We use old buses as hunting camps. Looks like you stumbled across an old Hunters camp. That's why there's a bus in the woods🤯
We just did this trail yesterday in a Toyota Sequoia with 2.5 inches and 33s no lockers and made all the way around

Geez that was some tight trails. A friend of mine mine went and had is truck wrapped so the paint would be protected from scratches. Whew on that last trail y’all was on I was sitting on the edge of my chair.

Awesome !!!!!...... my brother and I did that Rocky trail 3 Weeks ago in a snow& rain Fj Cruiser & FJ80 ..... man it was a challenge but such a great trail ..... hardest was coming from the river crossing to the rock steps on the bottom part \_/ Lockers on !!!! :) but the top view was all worth it .

@@ValFinale Check out the other videos he has posted. Those jeeps get their fair shares of being stuck. Plus there's plenty of videos on RUclips of jeep Rubicon getting stuck in puddles man 😅. Point is, all vehicles get stuck eventually, plus alot has to do with driver, tires, clearance not so much that it's a jeep. I'm not biased, owned hummer, jeep, now a yota, maybe a bronco in the future😊

Ok the thumbnail got my attention this should be good!
I called and asked the forest service about if the trail is really this bad. She said, "No, I drive it every week in my sedan." And I directed her to this and a couple similar videos, and she said "We don't have any official roads like that. They're all maintained. Those people are illegally making their own side trails." After I posted that, I went on a rant about not going off trail, etc. I'm very in to public lands and want to see them protected for all of us. Abusing them will get areas closed, etc. But, I went there and the forest lady was wrong. The actual trail is a gravel road, but some of the legal side roads are really rough. I saw most of the trails in this video. Not so bad in the dry dirt, but still really rough.
@@whyarealltheidstaken Appreciate your concern, however these were all MVUM trails. We all use mapping software like onX Offroad or Gaia GPS and we stay on MVUM trails. As far as filming, I'm not sure of an permit needed, but Express Rally works directly with the Forest Service and obtains the proper insurance and permitting required to lead these trips. They spend thousands and thousands of dollars to do so.
@@ArkansasOffroad Thanks, that's awesome about the permits.. That was a snarkey comment, I didn't expect you (or most people) to acutally have filming permits. BUT, the forest service lady assured me, the entire length of the glade top trail is gravel and can be traveled by a street car, and any 'mudding' was done off-trail. Maybe the forest doesn't know what they're talking about. I'll find out in a few hours, heh..
