I have been using sony 16-55mm for 2+ yrs and tried sigma 18-55mm too. the sigma has excellent image quality and is very light, but the extra focal lengths on the sony and native focus justify the price for me. no regret!
With the fx30 I prefer the 18-105 unless in low light. I feel like the 16-55 is way too sharp on the fx30 sensor. That 18-105 focal length mixed with the slightly softer image makes that fx30 shine and look natural. Jacques Crafford got some amazing footage out of the 16-55 and fx30 combo.
I wish there would be some kind of update to this lens…the full frame 24-50 2.8 is actually smaller/lighter than this so I’d assume this could be made even smaller for a crop lens.
Thanks for the video Mike! This video really come at the right time, have been considering this lens because found a good deal for a used one recently By the way around 3:36-4:03 I think you're repeating the same thing as 1:19 ? maybe it can be cut using youtube Trim & Cut tools?
What's your zoom lens of choice for your Sony APS-C?

Still haven’t tried the 18-50 but I agree,I like just that extra more range.
is it a problem that theres no stabilization?
on an aps-c sensor it's a 24-82,5mm lens. The 12,5mm more are a big difference you are paying for.
Oh yeah, I often use that long end a lot!

I completely agree. This combo is great to have.
I like to use the lens function as toggle for DMF to AFC.
Ooo. That's a good idea.

I believe it's the wide end of the 16mm that makes the barrel so big despite being crop lens.
Nah the 20-70 is also smaller so it is just older tech ..
Great review man, thank you! What lens/lighting are you shooting at for your office shots? Awesome quality
I’m using many lights hahaha. I’ll have to make a kit about it haha. But the lens lately is Sigma 18-35 f1.8 with the mc11 adapter

Yeah man, I don't regret grabbing this lens for a good deal.
Also thanks for looking out. I may have to use that tool.

Snatched one brand new for 777€ on Amazon DE! Already love it for my FX30 and a6700
Great deal! It’s solid right?
@@MikeBSalazar have to put it trought some additional testing but so far so good! 😄
I prefer Sigma 18-50
It’s not bad for the price at all
But it's not good for vlogging though
@@AUMSGAMEON it is actually better it is much smaller plus has macro capabilities
Have you used the Sony lens?
Why not buy a fullframe lens instead?
Didn’t have any intention to upgrade to full frame at the time
That should be said that Sony E 16-55 is not present on the list of focus breathing compensation compatible lenses for FX30.
Thanks for mentioning this. I have looked this up when I first got the lens but slipped my mind to include in the video.
Lol fantastic review!
Thanks for stopping by!
why the heck are you using the zve1 for photography?....... thats a f ing video camera dude stop
Don’t frequently want to carry two separate cameras 😅
