I Love the RGB Curves node in Blender 4.2

- In this video, I will show you how the RGB curve node helps you control the behavior of objects in geometry nodes. This is a very powerful tool to use in your motion graphics in blender. Geometry nodes doesn’t always offer you the easiest solutions, but this trick will make your life much easier. When you’re dealing with key framing movements, most of the time you can edit them in the graph editor and change their interpolation. But sometimes animations are created using values rather than key frames. Which creates a problem when it comes to editing the interpellation of the movements. But this trick will help solve that problem. #geometrynodes #motiongraphics #blender3d

thanks for putting the final render to the end of the video
i am just amazed at how you animate such simple things that are so pleasant to look at🔥🔥🔥
I appreciate that!
I love the curve method just one thing at 17:37 u can press shift+T so the light would follow where ur mouse is . its way better then pressing R twice
This reminds me of when a strong character smashes the ground and causes blocks to fly up and down in random directions, but that’s more on the rigid body side I think
Another incredible tutorial. One of the best!
Glad you think so!
Great stuff as always 🤝
Much appreciated
What a legend! Thanks once again Ducky!
I’m glad you liked it
Use Float Curve
Protip which I never seen anyone mention. You can type in node initials to get them faster. For example: Shift+A + type in the search "CR" and you'll get a color ramp. Much quicker than typing "col" or "wav" or "noi". I.E, NT gives you Noise Texture (below will be results of all other nodes with the same initials too).
Very clever!
great video man
Appreciate it!
broooo amazing!
Thanks!
Another great Tutorial 2*pi = tau => use tau for complete circles
Thanks!
Good information. 😊
Very interesting ! 🚀
Do you think it's possible to have a curve for the up movement a another for the down movement ?
I supose it will need sort of math contiditional branching ?
I would need to try that out
thanks for cool tutorials. Can you make video about phisics properties. PLEASE
I’ve been using float curve node for the same thing. I wonder is there any difference? I just tried switching them out and don’t see one but perhaps in different use cases it is?
I haven’t tried that before!
Technically the float curve is the node designed for stuff like this. RGB curves work with color/vector information (sets of 3 values), while float curves work with floats (1 value). The reason that both work here is because color/vector information can be converted into a float if it needs to be
By default rgb curves equal to float cruve, but they can also adjust 3 float for each R,G,B channel separatedly. Unless you are working with an rgb image, there isn't much point since 3 separate float curve nodes is much clearer & faster to adjust.
Hello, I am your annual Patreon subscriber. Your tutorials are very inspiring. Recently, I have made several similar effects based on your tutorials, and they all look great. I would like to ask if I can use these effects in my own commercial projects. I hope to get your reply. Thank you.
Of course you can use them for anything
Thanks
Blender should rename it to e.g., "Curve Mapping". I've never seen anyone use that node for color.
Nice tutorial Duck! Am I first :)) ?
Ducky can you do a pigment explosion blender tutorial 🫶🏽
I am first))) Hello Ducky. Tnanks for sharing your content.
Is there a way to get the same results as the Delay modifier in C4d? Thank you Ducks!
I need to look that up
can I use this on my commercial work?
Yes
The soft clipper
does these titles actually give more views ? "No One Talks About This Node Trick in Blender!" 🤔🤔
Unfortunately they do
@@TheDucky3D I feel it, hahaha
@@TheDucky3D Respect the hustle, and at the end of the day its good content and thats all that matters!
Well he's not wrong 😂 have U seen anyone talk about this node? 😂😂😂 I learnt it here from a previous video
Of course they do :D
Any idea why I wouldn't have Beam Shape showing up on the lights? using 4.2
isit possible to use a collection of a particular mesh instead of the cubes to go up and down?
Yes I believe you can
Yes, just use "collection info" node with collection you want to instance and mark the "pick instance" thing in the instance on points node
you are so perfect nice .
Thanks!
