Remember visiting Oliver Cromwell when based at Bressingham Gardens in Norfolk. I learned that the man across the road from me as a child, was the regular fireman on it when it was based on the Eaastern Region. Some years later, I was to work with a man who had fired Oliver Cromwell on the farewell steam run from Lime Street, and had a nice picture to prove it.
Hi Andrew. Thank you for watching. hope you enjoyed. I was on that farewell steam run. A black five took us from Lime Street but Oliver Cromwell took over at Manchester Piccadilli. I videoed that trip as well here. If you'd like to watch that you'll probably see your fireman friend there. It was called the Fifteen Guinea Special. Watch the full trip.
Traveling on steam railtours is a lot of fun, ever since I first started traveling on steam railtours in 2012 iv done 26 tours to date and presently got 2 planned for 2018 but more is to follow.
Who indeed needs HS2! Reopening some of the branch lines would make much more sense! Interesting to see a depiction of the turning triangle. How many of those remain in existence I wonder.
Enjoyed very much watching your trip to Holyhead, I was fortunate to travel on a similar journey but from Milton Keynes to Holyhead with the train pulled by Leander, fantastic day out and your video brought back many happy memories for me. Thank you for posting it.
Hello John. Sorry I haven't replied to you before. I've only just discovered comments regarding some of my videos - and how to reply to them! It's not as easy to reply with RUclips. I'm pleased that you enjoyed the trip with me to Holyhead.
Hello Ian. I've just had an update from RUclips, and only now discovered messages sent to me ages ago by subscribers - and I've now learnt how to reply to them! I've awfully sorry for not having replied to you before now! You must think me very thoughtless! I'm pleased that you enjoyed my rail trip. Thank you.
At least with these steam engines and the old diesel and electric trains they could haul more carriages than the modern trains can today those were the days im hoping to take a steam train ride either this year or next summer for the first time since i was about 1year old

Sorry for not replying sooner. Only now just discovering how RUclips is structured! No, this rail trip travelled directly from Liverpool via Frodsham and Chester to Holyhead, then it returned via Chester, Warrington Bank Quay to Liverpool.

@@roneyre9842 Not quite sure but I think Edge Hill station is one of if not the oldest station in the world.
Did it go via Crewe
No. By the looks of it it went via Warrington Bank Quay and Earlestown and then into Liverpool.
