I've been under the spell of the L & B since l read an article in Railway World circa 1966. Now as a 61 year old living in New Jersey, l just hope l can get over and see this lovely railway. A wonderful video of a wonderful railway!

What beautiful countryside. Its easy to see why people loved this railway in its heyday. Lyd looks so at home.

I last went to the L&B railway about 7 years ago when I was about 10 and fell in love with it. Would love to go back again and see the line when it is fully restored.

Really excellent video...I see what you mean about the 'Tango' people !! I managed to get some in the final clip of my video, but they were fellow videographers i know. I take it you filmed this on The Saturday, i was there on The Sunday...would have been nice to have met you. The last clips with the Lyd/Charles Whytock 'top and tail' were superb.. Are you doing the WSR Autumn Gala? I will only be there on the Sunday due to work commitments.... Best wishes.....Steve.

I used to live near there when I was little .. where are the two people with the hoodies ? I never saw them ! Is this a trick to get everyone to watch it again . Lol !

A comment now a bit 'dated'..... this is another of your very fine video productions, THANK YOU!!
RE: the 'Bright-Hoodie' jerks-- by now you and I both know that there are those 'Loonies' among us who wear such apparel intentionally simply to piss other people off! Little do they realize, their clothing also makes them excellent 'Targets', and there are several tactful methods which can be used to warn and/or discourage them (paint, tar & feathers, sticks, stones, & bricks, come to mind....). On occasion, on Heritage Railways, there are sometimes Railway Officers & Personnel who also unnecessarily 'OVERDO' the wearing of such bright apparel for 'Safety' purposes, using 'Ultimate Safety' as a largely 'unjustifiable excuse'..... an idea which can be easily abused & overreached!! IMHO on such Heritage Railways the required wearing of more subdued clothing should be the 'RULE'..... the only time such 'Brighter' apparel 'may be a necessity' is for those Personnel or Safety Staff other than the 'Operating Personnel', those persons who are physically working in the IMMEDIATE vicinity of the Lineside to enhance their visibilty..... AND EVEN THEN, a simple BRIGHT VEST worn over other clothing would adequately suffice in nearly all cases!!
There..... from a retired Locomotive Driver & steam afficianado, and holding 'Awards' for Safety & Team Participation for over 62 years..... that's my 'Rant of the Day'!!

Are these replica locomotives or restorations. If the latter, what was the typical use for an engine this small?

I think that is about the worst collection of asthmatic whistles I've ever heard. If you don,t know how to make a decent whistle, visit an organ building works.
