The theme songs for Ryu, Ken, Guile, Balrog, and Vega were my favorite. So awesome, brings back memories. So many of the classic Japanese games had such beautifully composed soundtracks, always stellar basslines! Life Force, Contra, and all the Castlevanias (especially SOTN) come to mind also.
Vega was my favorite character to play. Back when i was 8 years old none of my friends could beat me. Not to mention he looks pretty badass with those claws.
Guile got best theme music and after is Ken. I remember waiting in line at Chinese food spot to get order chicken wings and fried rice everybody playing on arcade always picking Guile. The nostalgia is timeless
I grew up with these songs. Had no idea how to do any special moves was a button masher....Still probaly is...But that didn't take away the fun I had, this was one of my first games ever.
As much as I wish I was around to play the original games, and experiencing this assortment of incredible songs firsthand whilst playing the actual game must have been so much fun. I've grown to have a deeper appreciation for the game because of this video and these songs, so thanks.
Ryu's theme: mood of confidence E-Honda: the most laid back of them all Blanka: captures the feel of being in the wild Guile: hard to describe as it, well, goes with everything Dhalsim: overwhelming; like you're in a crowded street Zangief: feels like shifting from mystery to adventure Chun-li: cherry blossoms Ken: brings about a sense of danger coming in your way Balrog: the likes that you'll play whenever you're feeling lucky Vega: let's dance! Anyone else notice the similarity between Zangief's theme and Guile's theme? Guile is clearly Zangief's kryptonite. Or vice versa. There's a certain sense to it, too, since "guile" means "sly or cunning intelligence" whereas Zangief is the personification and embodiment of brawn and brute strength.

The SNES sound chip did a great job handling these tunes. The difference in sound between the SNES and MD versions is like night and day.
In terms of SSF2 I'd most certainly agree, but SCE has a brilliant soundtrack.

The Sagat theme is really progressive - the bassline is in a different beat and the melody kinda swims around it. Really great stuff.
