    I see that the $500 sale for lifetime access is back until May 24th. I'm assuming it will pop up again at least a few times per year. Like other commenters on this video, I would like Cinesamples to provide full information on exactly what are the limitations of Museo compared to their full libraries. I was considering a lifetime license last month when it was on sale, but decided against because I already have libraries that are functionally equivalent to most of what Musio has. Also, I read that important functionality what's missing from some of the libraries, such as the phrase builder in Voxos, glissandos in Cineharps, or anyting else that requires programming such as is available in Kontakt.
    Still, if Musio had been available a few years ago as it is now, I would have picked it up. I am a hobbyist. I absolutely don't need any of these libraries. Like many other people, I wanted to get into orchestral programming, but now I realize that it is a lot of work and skill to set up something that sounds like a real symphony orchestra is playing. I think that if somebody aspires to this, Musio will not suffice, as it currently lacks the fine controls. I'm sure it will improve, but I'm thinking that a professional composer, who needs to produce truly convincing orchestral mock-ups for movie directors and other paying clients, will need to buy the best libraries. For myself, my ambitions have decreased, and I will be happy to just be able to add some nice orchestral elements to some of my more modest compositions. For that, I think Musio would have sufficed even as it is now. I'm still considering getting the lifetime deal, as some of the instruments seem outstanding, such a the Tina Guo Cello.

      Thanks for sharing Peter! I think for the hobbyist composer who doesn't have too many libs to start with, Musio is a great option, as it allows you to get up and running relatively quickly. For the pro, if they already have many Cinesamples libs, then Musio may not be worth it, especially if they already are happy with their setup/template. That being said, it'll be fun to see the upcoming updates for Musio and how it'll get closer to Kontakt and other players!

    I... Holy cow, I was going to make an admittedly cynical quip of them not even offering a rent-to-own option, but lifetime access to 'all' of their libraries for the cost of a couple? That's actually insane, props to them!

    Just bought the Musio lifetime license, and it's very promising! I was skeptical about people calling it "lite" versions, but there is no difference in legato, round-robin count, or sound quality (with the exception of some libraries that they said were a WIP or voxos scripting). The key thing that makes it much more limited for me is the lack of mics and key switching, but that changes with the new update they announced! I am not a fan of subscriptions, so I can confidently put 500 down for this many products. It's an amazing deal! And that's not even mentioning the potential for improvement here and in future products!!!

    I've had Musio for about a year now. Assuming you don't already have all the Cinesamples libraries you want or need, it's totally worth it. It's been a constant progression of updates with the plug in. I'm always hesitant to invest in products that have something "coming soon". However they have done everything they said they would in the timeframe they had promised so far. So I think they are fully invested in this product and I expect it to only get better and better. The planned update of Key Articulation Switching is really one of the few things that had been missing. The Mic mixing will be nice as well. But honestly I haven't really missed it at all and in some ways it's been refreshing to not be distracted with tweaking all kinds of mic signals.

    • @rbingraham
      @rbingraham Год назад

      @@chandeleerjet5637 It depends on how many samples you download onto your machine. You'll only download the samples that you choose to load into a project and you can audition sounds within Musio. So I'm sure if you download every patch that will consume a pretty large amount of space. So far my musio folder is just under 40GB. But I'm sure that will grow as the catalog grows. Also right now there is only one mic position per patch in Musio. But they have said multi-mic positions are coming. How they will handle that from a download perspective is hard to say. Will you have to download all the mic positions for each patch. That will mean each patch will grow in size and download time, but if you had to download each mic mix separately, that would be a royal pain in the ass. It is worth noting, and I haven't really seen this pointed out too much, that when you use Musio your computer must be online to download new patches which you haven't downloaded yet. And of course how fast any new patches you want to use download is completely dependent upon your internet connection speed. I have 1gb/s at home so that's reasonably quick downloads for these patches, but when I'm not at home, it can be a time suck.

    I signed up for the trial last night. I'm making a 'live at the Albert Hall' style orchestral track for a vocalist, so naturally started with BBCSO (which I love when it's right for the job, no hate...), but it seemed a bit 'meh' as far as cutting through. Backed and forthed between jumping on Eastwest or Musio... decided on Musio.
    I only opened it first time at 10am today... it's 7pm and the track sounds IMMENSE! Cinestrings, Brass, and Perc all over it! With a nice bass guitar and drumkit alternative swapped in too.
    Yeah, I was initially disappointed that you didn't get the GUI of the library within the Musio window, along with all the editable perimeters and mic positions.
    But, A) it STILL sounds incredible even with just Mod, Exp, and Reverb settings, and B) I was told yesterday that by August all addition mic positions / etc should be featured within Musio.
    I worked out that it would take something like 58 years for $10 a month to NOT be better value than buying everything, especially with them planning to upload everything they have by some point

    • @tomoakley809
      @tomoakley809 Год назад

    Gotta say as well, the difference on my CPU for just loading what I need is HUGE!
    Even when I delete out all other articulations in BBCSO, it's still a guzzler.
    This project is running separate Musio instances on leg, stacc, trem on V1, V2, Viola, Celli, Bass, as well as two horn patches, three separate trumpet tracks, flute legato, flute trill, oboe, clarinet, English horn, Bassoon, Cinepiano, bass, acoustic guitar, drums, timp, orch percussion, crotales, glock, harp... and it's barely hitting half the CPU it was before...!
    For THAT alone, it is worth it!

    They've changed the pricing since this video. They've rebranded to Musio 1, reduced the price is $400 (currently $300 for 24 more hours) and are charging for annual upgrades presumably under Musio 2, 3... Big time FYI.
    Bought a year license last September. I did the 14 day free trial to check things out. Seemed legit. Until it wasn't.
    The verbiage and website design at the time gave users the impression you're buying access to actual Cinesamples libraries. Nope. It's not even a "lite" version of the library. Missing articulations, no mics, no scripting, etc.
    So if your 14 day free trial is up and it says musio now has "VOXOS" don't believe it. It's not actually the killer, flexible, scripted choir library. It's just a sample pack of a handful of articulations in a VERY limited player. But they'll absolutely market it as "voxos."
    I found this out 10 minutes after buying. They may be using the logos and graphics of popular libraries, but it's not.
    You'll be disappointed if you expect MUSIO to actually have what they're advertising. It's NOT a Cinesamples version of East West's Composer Cloud. Far from it.
    They do not offer refunds.
    Buyer beware.

      @ChristopherSiu  Год назад +2

      Thanks for sharing your experiences! Yes as you mention, many of the features you have in Kontakt aren't in Musio yet. As far as I'm aware, they're actively working on putting these into Musio as soon as possible, along with other libraries they're working on.

    • @BpackAudio
      @BpackAudio Год назад +4

      @@ChristopherSiu It's absolutely killer as a supplemental alternative, but the lack of disclosure and pertinent FAQs on their site gives a false impression. I see all the "new libraries" they've added from the Cinesamples catalog and they're STILL marketing them as complete. It would be better if they let potential users know before diving in the differences between the full Kontakt libs vs MUSIO. A simple vs chart or something. But no, they're just slapping the graphic and title of big name libraries in their catalog and letting it ride. Some, like me, would see that as dishonest, and mildly deceptive.

I do understand why they want to move away from dependence on Native Instruments, but from a deeply invested user perspective it hasn’t been a smooth transition.

    I might have been tempted for $500 for the lifetime offer. The Musio 1 for $299 sounds interesting but I mainly want Voxos and if the builder is not included why can't I find that out on their site somewhere? It seems like a better disclosure of what Musio 1 entails, vs Musio 2, is needed because more than likely some of the serious limitations in scripting will not be addressed until Musio 2 and my purchase will be a disappointment in that case (particularly if Voxos is not fully functioning.)

    one thing you said "not available in Kontakt" is what's holding me back. I own a ton of libraries and I can access them all with Kontakt. By adding Musio my instruments would be divided between 2 players. I guess it wouldn't be a problem if you use a DAW template and stick to that, but looking for the right instrument will become more difficult if your instruments are scattered between 2 players instead of well organized. I really don't NEED Musio, I own Komplete 14 Collector's Edition, several big Spitfire Audio libraries, lots of piano vst plugins and smaller libraries. But that price ($499 at this moment) is so tempting for an ever growing library.
