    Great to see some diversity.
    Went online to learn...
Use. A good quality unakite is considered a semiprecious stone; it will take a good polish and is often used in jewelry as beads or cabochons and other lapidary work such as eggs, spheres and animal carvings. It is also referred to as epidotized or epidote granite

Glad to hear that you might get to Shoshoni . I don't work at the store but most of the people there know me . Don't miss the rock show all Casper Wyoming this month if you get the chance to see it . Best wishes again and , yes , the wind river canyon is amazing...

Hello Dee! We did not go there after all, though I was hoping we would, as a new area like where you are sounds amazing. I have been through there and seen the canyon: and dream of all the cool rocks!

Well, Dee, thank you so much. I have ALWAYS wanted to go rock hunting in that area. You guys are just outside of the Wind River Canyon, right? That is some amazing geology there. I actually have a rock buddy of mine coming to town from Connecticut, and perhaps I may take you up on your offer! He is from here and we always go up to the Shirley Basin area when he comes around.

Medium to high heat and medium to high pressure. Higher the better. The color green comes from mafic inclusions and again higher heat and pressure in metamorphic events.

You should be polishing your fabulous unakite! Start with a tumbler.

I actually still have all my granite countertop polishing equipment, for cutting, shaping and polishing. I do have one or two pieces that I have polished, but, as you say, I need to do more, especially with some of these bigger pieces I have now. Tumbler: I need to invest in a cement mixer or something!!! If you watch the sculpture videos, you will see the exotic granitic gravel that covers the ground: I would LOVE to tumble all of that, just enough to bring out the colors more.
